In the Åland State, being Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender is a allowed but is not recognized by the government. The only way to chage genders in the Åland State is a sex reassignment surgery.
LGBT history in the Åland State
The Åland State has historically been anti-LGBT but after the suspension of the 2024 Åland State anti-LGBT act laws about LGBT have become less anti-LGBT. Himberg has also condemned the Augusta Accord since according to him it is not needed.
Recognition of same-sex relationships
In the Åland State you can personally be in a same-sex relationship but there is no recognition of it from the government.
