The Government of the Åland State is the national government of the Åland State. The government has three branches, executive, legislative and judicial. The executive branch is led by the president, the legislative branch is led by the parliament and the judicial branch is led by the supreme court.
Legislative branch
The legislative branch is led by the parliament and votes on policies and laws and can veto everything but executive orders from the president. Parliament can have an emergency vote to veto any wars declared by the president. Currently there are two seat in parliament, one for the Åland Party and one for the Finnish Party. The vice president would be the speaker of parliament but the current president, Axel Himberg and the vice president is Wilmer Himberg.
Executive Branch
The executive branch is led by the president and can sign laws and policies that parliament can veto but the president can sign executive orders which parliament can not veto. The president is also the chief of defence and has controll over the police and the armed forces.
Judicial Branch
The juducial branch is led by the supreme court. The supreme court has not yet been set up.
