Emilierzei Meizcherni-Zerri (born 2000), is an Easwegian statesman and the paramount founder of the Common Union of Easway, who served as its chief of state as the 1st Grand Councillor from 19 December 2017 to 25 November 2023. Adopting the name Emizerri in 2015, he founded a national movement to seek the independence of the peoples of the Barents Region, which his alliance termed Easwegians. Following two years of preparation, the Free Serpent Forces launched the Easwegian Reawakening and established a polity initially on Bear Island, declaring independence as Easway on 19 December 2017, with himself as its head. Primarily a communitarian socialist, his administration focused on the advancement of Easwegian culture, the incorporation of new domains and the implementation of his unique form of secular polyculturalism, termed Easwegianism.
Following the conclusion of his administration as head of state, Emizerri continues serving as Tannustad of the House of Zerri, national chief of the Easwegians, a role created on 20 October 2015. He also returns as 7th Grand Marshal, a position he held as its first holder in late 2017. Emizerri remains close to the workings of the state.
As chief head of state, Emizerri has forged an Easwegian national identity based on polyethnic secular co-operation centred around the Barents region. Identifying as a federal socialist, by his direction the Co-operative Government forms a pluralist semi-direct democracy and has begun socially owned industrialisation through collegial-assembly leadership. These actions are together realised through the national philosophy of the Seven Masts, which are included in the Constitution of Easway.
Emizerri founded and was the face of the underground Easwegian micronationalist organisation known as the Cyber Council Easwegian Alliance (CCEA), established on 20 October 2015 by himself, Oelaanni Creizoun and Dr. M. Emizerri as its head coordinated the CCEA to seek out a core base of Easwegian nationalist seeking independence, whilst also criticising the policies of the then Conservative Norwegian government under Erna Solberg. As Emizerri was a teenager during the 2010s, he appointed his most trustworthy confident Aleksou Desourrë to serve as the CCEA's secretary general from 2016 onwards. A large focus of their criticisms of Norway included the erosion of local democracy and the militarisation of the arctic, centering on the GLOBUS spy radar on the historical Pomors island of Vardø. To this end, the CCEA aligned itself with Russia and established connections with the Russian Barentsburg consulate in Svalbard.
Easway achieved independence on 19 December 2017 following the second pre-independence Assembly electing Emizerri unanimously as the nation's head of state. Emizerri led a 2 year non-partisan provisional authority which focused on building the nation, originally consisting of Bear Island, from scratch and fostering a new Easwegian identity. The Provisional Authority, inspired by former Turkish president Ataturk and former Indonesian president Sukarno, introduced a policy of secularism, guided democracy and civic nationalism, operating through the motto 'Sovereignty, Prosperity, Co-operation' or 'SOPROCO.' A law was passed mandating all citizens pick up an Easwegian surname, including from the Ezerryen, Norwegian, Russian or Saami languages. Ezerryen and Norwegian were made official languages alongside English as the official working language of central governance. Inspired by post-war Korea, Emizerri established various local and direct-democratic People's Committes to handle local economic affairs and other disputes, whilst a central Mainland People's Committee elected the Authority Council. These however were strongly regulated by the National Electoral Commission and the Easwegian National Guard to counter actors seen as anti-Easwegian. These countermeasures were closely monitored by Aleksou Desourrë, Alperen and Squ Bai.
Work on a permanent constitution to end the provisional period was begun in early 2019, with major changes to the administrative structure occurring throughout the year, largely instituted by then head of government Aleksou Desourrë. These changes worked to centralise certain governing organs. The People's Committes were replaced with municipal councils and the National Directorate was established in preparation for its role as the new government. Boriopa Centrum municipality was created in Bear Island's north and became Easway's new capital. The Surname Law was repealed. This year saw Emizerri gain new powerful political allies with Csyeigo, Samme vi Ezerrye, and Neicou.
In the fresh new year the third Assembly ratified the constitutional acts into the First Amendment and on 14 January 2020, the Directorial Federation Constitution of Easway entered into effect, transforming the Provisional Authority into the modern Government of Easway. Among many things, the First Amendment saw the introduction of collegiality with municipal governors leading a government including their own municipal directorate cabinets. National policy was undertaken by the permission of the three governors and signed off by the head of state, that being Emizerri. Political parties were legalised and Emizerri created the dominant Mutualist Ouroboros Party, which heavily focused on decentralisation. It was noted by political observers that Emizerri became increasingly concerned about the centralisation of state and capital power in many nations, warning in late 2019 of a '2020 armageddon' if imperialism and the surveillance state were not quashed. Seemingly, Emizerri's warnings were realised when the global COVID pandemic swept the world. Easway's response to the pandemic and the need for stronger measures fell against the Government's decentralisation attempts and the new administration was stunned due to widely different opinions on how to move forward, alongside the emerging anti-Easwegian group known as Kingdom - 1925, which Easway regarded as a terror organisation. K-95 were responsible for failed assassination attempts against Emizerri in April 2020 and August 2023, the second through methanol-poisoning, as well as a failed coup attempt in February 2023. Anti-corruption and counterintelligence measures, such as the Brush-Off Campaign, were successful in eliminating K-25 in late 2023.
Whilst the Government failed to act, the National Directorate set up mutual aid committees to help people suffering the economic and mental health downturns due to the pandemic. Alperen, governor of Essrina municipality, rallied against COVID-measures whilst promoting hypernationalism in response to Kingdom - 1925, including tying in nationalist conspiracy theories to the pandemic. Though a close friend of Emizerri, many in the government fell out with Alperen's increasingly untenable position and a no confidence vote had him expelled from office in May, an act which he never forgave Emizerri for. Though sad, Emizerri pushed forward the Third Amendment which abolished the governors and created the federal head of state Council, consisting of the municipal heads and the Chief Councillor, that being Emizerri. The National Directorate gained autonomy as the collective head of government as a reward for their success with the mutual aid committees. Csyeigo became the vice head of state and successfully passed through an amendment temporarily once again prohibiting political parties. In response to Russia extending the rule of its president, increasingly persecuting Pomors activists and outlawing gay marriage, Easway incorporated Hopen island and made Pomors a regional language. This notably strained Easway-Russia Relations.
Annoyed with the failure of the rapid decentralisation experiment and increasingly concerned by the rise of Kingdom - 1925, Emizerri began to dominate the government once again in an era known as the Easwegian Authoritarian Period, lasting until the end of the year.
On April 2023, before his victory in the May Election winning a seventh term as Grand Councillor, Emizerri announced it would be his last term and he is expected to step down in November 2023 at the next election. He completed his term on 25 November and was succeeded by his close ally Squ Bai. He was subsequently elected by the Assembly to serve as the 7th Grand Marshal, a position he had previously held in 2017. Not long before his resignation, he presented a speech to the incoming 10th United Common Assembly, named Emizerri's Ultimate Speech, whereby he detailed the history of independent Easway and gave warnings and advice for the future.
Personal Life
Emizerri's birth date is reported on his Easwegian passport to be Tuesday, 19 December 2000 and his place of birth as Great Britain. The 2017 Easwegian Independence day also falls on 19 December, making it likely that this date was chosen when official documents were issued to follow the Co-operative Government's practice of protecting the identity of its citizens from potential misuse. Despite this, unspecified sources state his official year and day of birth are accurate. Emizerri is a practising "Buddho-Catholic."
Name and family
The legal name of Emizerri is Emilierzei Meizcherni-Zerri, which is found on his Easwegian passport and sometimes official documents. Emilierzei is the Easwegian form of the Latin Aemilius, meaning "industrious." Meizcherni in Ezerryen is a personalised form of 'Meizchernei', meaning major and once formed part of his title of 'Qileizemeizchernei' or 'major director' during the underground CCEA. The title is also a nod to one of Emizerri's stated historical idols, Roman Emperor Majorian. Zerri (from Persian hazar, meaning thousand) means Easwegian in Ezerryen.
Meizcherni family
The use of the name Meizcherni is protected and may only form part of the name of a relative of Emizerri. The name Meizcherni-Zerri may only be used by the spouse, children, or direct blood relatives of Emizerri.

As Head of Easway
First Term
Emizerri's first term began on 19 December 2017.
Second Term
Emizerri was unanimously re-elected to his second term on 19 December 2018.
Third Term
Emizerri again stood unopposed and was re-elected to his third term on 19 December 2019, promising a referendum to ratify the Constitution of Easway at the beginning of the new year.
Fourth Term
Emizerri was re-elected unopposed to his fourth term on 21 December 2020. There were no other candidates, although some activists from Boriopa City's Tunheim, who protested the recent borders of the municipality, which gave some of what was formerly seen as part of southern Tunheim to Urdport municipality, successfully protested the government to allow write-in candidates, with federal councillors eligible, resulting in 85.71% of votes counted to Emizerri vs 14.29% to Marquis of Boriopa City Samme. In a total of 60 cast, 30% were declared spoilt or miscast.
From July onwards, Emizerri, along with much of the government, contended with the newly formed Solidarity party, led by Gaia Grìbhinneach, who stood on a revolutionary socialist and fiercely anti-authoritarian platform and had been elected to the National Directorate after a failed referendum to reduce the chief of state's powers over the constitution. Gaia opposed Easway's return to a socially democratic economic system and advocated for a fully worker-owned society. Many in the government, namely the Homonationalist Party of Easway and the National Republic Party of Easway strongly rejected this, and initially Emizerri took the parties' side, the former having significant electoral hold. Solidarity also opposed the chief of state and head of the Maritime Hopen's 'imperium' over the constitution, which allowed the two to both confirm or deny constitutional amendments, but also to make their own amendments if they saw it constitutionally prudent. These powers were where the chief of states style of 'Emperor' originated from. Solidarity argued that this effectively made the realm a monarchy, despite identifying with republic democracy. Due to the referendum, which would have removed this 'imperium' over the constitution failing, which Emizerri himself endorsed, Emizerri embarked on the principle of gradualism, claiming that 'permanent revolution as a concept has almost always failed and led to the dictatorship.' Gaia disagreed, arguing the authoritarian monopoly capital holds preventing change, and cited communes. Disagreements being Emizerri and Solidarity leader Gaia intensified into full shouting matches within the assembly and accusations of totalitarianism by September. Controversially, Emizerri used his extraordinary powers granted to him by the constitution to expel Gaia from office. This was backed up by the standing council, although Mutualist Ouroboros Party leader Etchaczech successfully appealed this decision and Gaia returned to office soon after. This affair led to the creation of the High Court of Easway.
Fifth Term
Emizerri was re-elected unopposed to his fifth term, which began on 1 January 2022.
Sixth Term
Following a rather brutal opposition campaign from Mutualist Ouroboros Party chief Etch, Emizerri won re-election with 75% of the vote on 20 December 2022 and began his sixth term on 1 January 2023.
Seventh Term
Following along from the Fiftieth Amendment on 8 April, elections were unified in the United Common Assembly, to twice annually. Emizerri was re-elected in a friendly campaign with 84.6% of the vote, as opposed to Archiennè with 15.4% of the vote. Emizerri thanked the Easwegian people for the overwhelming support in re-election and gave respect to his opposition candidate.
Grand Marshal (2023 - present)
Emizerri was elected as the 7th Grand Marshal of the Easwegian National Guard on 25 November 2023 by the United Common Assembly, following the conclusion of his term as Grand Councillor, with 10 votes in favour and 1 abstention, swearing an oath to the assembly. This marks the second time Emizerri has been Grand Marshal, previously holding the position during the Easwegian Revolution in late 2017.
Newly incumbent Grand Councillor Squ Bai awarded Emizerri the same day as his inauguration with the highest honour in the land, Champion of the Easwegian Common Union, for 'his service in leading Easway to independence and serving the nation as Grand Councillor over a coarse of seven years.' This allowed Emizerri to join the House of Zerri, whereby Federal Director of Education and Culture Devaade Raizerni appointed him as its commissioner, which allows him to manage the cultural organisation.
Emizerri promoted Don Cho, Federal Director of Public Works and Infrastructure, from sergeant to major within the ENG on 4 December. Emizerri gained the consent of the Assembly to change the name of the intelligence service from the Unified Home Force to the Common Security Force on 6 December. He subsequently promoted Don Cho to the rank of Air Marshal and Syri vi Ezerrye to the rank of major. Metallityöt was promoted to the rank of Admiral on 19 December 2023, the 6 year anniversary of Easwegian independence, and a new naval and civil flag were produced by the two and confirmed by the Assembly. The flags are based on the flag of the Easwegian Commonwealth, with the national broadcaster Eix - Easway noting that the appointments of Easwegian nationalists Metalli and Don Cho to high ranking positions within the National Guard hint at an active foreign policy to further relations with lands that are viewed as a 'Unified Easway.' This comes after Squ Bai, a member of Easway's ethnic Ezaari grouping, posted a map of a greater Easway minor as part of his campaign for Grand Councillor.
With the war in Gaza raging on, with countless accusations of genocide aimed at the Israeli Defence Force and the Israeli government, including official accusations to the UN courts by South Africa, Emizerri made comparisons to Israel's actions to Germany in WW2 and called for a military liberation of the Holy Land similar to 1945 to prevent what he refers to as 'the ideology of Nazionism.'[1] These comments are not controversial within Easway, which has a firmly pro-Palestinian position, and is seen by Eix - Eaway as an extension of the Co-operative Government's October positions which denounced Hamas and placed the cause firmly on the apartheid polices of Israel 'over the last 75 years.' Emizerri stated in late December 'perhaps it is thankful that I sought to step down as Grand Councillor..., after seeing the horrors of religious and ethnic extremism in Gaza at the hands of the terrorist IDF and the Goebbelsian support of Western media, an 8th term would have been very radical.'[2]
