The Nova-Occitania local elections, December 2019 was the second local elections since the re-fondation of Occitania.
Background
The first local elections in July 2019 aimed to elect representatives who would later set up local political institutions (Municipality in Babougrad, Generalitat in Three Flowers, Council of State in Shalom and General Council in Tartuga). The Constitution indicates that local elections are held every four months, but here they were not called in November but delayed by a month to allow all of the local political structures to be established. Once these steps have been completed, and in accordance with his constitutional powers, the President of the Union Babou Chkaya published the decree calling the elections on December 13, 2019[1].
Electoral system
The poll is organized in a single round, the candidate with the largest number of votes is elected head of its territory.
