The Micronational Community of Australia presidential election is a vote to elect the next President of the Micronational Community of Australia. The election will be held on April 18, with the winner entering office on the last day of President Zechariah O'Hair's second term.

Background

Procedure

The charter of the Micronational Community of Australia, Chapter 2, subsection D, states the following:

Presidential Elections and terms are to function as outlined in the Treaty of Canberra. Presidential terms last for six months. One month prior to the end of the current administration’s term the Senior Minister will organise an Election Notice, which will form a schedule for the election. This schedule is to heavily depend on the timing and availability of member states and candidates throughout the Election process. The Minister will be required to nominate a Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) who is barred from running for office, is reliable and responsible enough to count the votes and assume the Office of the President for the six days prior to announcement of the Presidential Election results.

Any delegate from a full member state to the Micronational Community of Australia may compete for the president, as long as they are not standing for another position within the organisation, such as Senior Minister or another bureaucratic agency within the Micronational Community of Australia. They may, however, refuse nominations and still be considered candidates for President.

Candidates

Registration for the elections were opened on 28 March 2022, 15 days before the end of the election period, with David Brooke and Rory Leonard declaring their candidacies for President on the same day. The next day, Kevin Doan declared his candidacy.
