Jansenburg (pronounced Jan-sen-burg) was a barony of the Kingdom of Lytera. The town was part of Greater Cavendish.
History
The fields south of Ruislip and north of RAF Northolt were spared in the original development plan for Ruislip, but succumbed after the opening of the station on the Great Western Railway’s Birmingham line in 1934, when the Ruislip Gardens estate was laid out, accompanied by the Bell public house and the shops of New Pond Parade. The estate was known to residents as ‘the Gardens’.
The Central line was extended to West Ruislip in 1948, on tracks parallel with the main line, and a new station was built at Ruislip Gardens. Mainline services continued to run for another ten years. Jansenburg became a part of Lytera in 2021 after years of close cooperation between its owners and the kingdom.[1] Despite much fervour to join, activity declined, and due to the large voting power it held, the government was held at a standstill. In January 2023, the decision was made to dissolve the barony.
