The Silofais People's Party was one of the two initial political parties in the Republic of Silofais with representation in the national government, along with the Silofais Democratic-Republican Party.
It was founded by David Ross, Newton von Uberquie and Patrick Renwick on the 4th of May, 2017, and was the first political party of its kind in Silofais; it later merged with the Progressive Party on May 12 — the same day that the latter was founded — and thereby earned representation at last in the Senate.
At its political height, the party controlled five of the fifteen seats (33%) in the Chamber of Delegates, the lower house of the the National Assembly, and one of the five seats (20%) in the Senate, the upper house. As well, the then-Chief SecretaryNewton von Uberquie was the party's leader; together with the legislators, he and the rest of the party wielded a great deal of power and influence over domestic policies.
The People's Party was a fairly "big tent" party in its politics, though the party's views tended towards centre-left views. The party was dominated by the majority Radical Left faction, which espoused Democratic Socialist and Marxist views.
Following the second Ratification Convention, the party fell into great inactivity and was eventually dissolved upon the formation of the Unity and Progress Party. The same day of its dissolution, Caleb F. reformed the Progressive Party
