Sante Belfort is a St. Charlian journalist and socialist politician and statesman. He is the 3rd Governor of Atlantis. Previously, he served as 4th Director of the St.Charlie Action News and 2nd Director of the Atlantis Post. He is one of the most well-known people of the Federation of Atlantis.
During the Civil War
The civil war began on the evening of September 13, 2010, when the Atlantis Minister of Home Affairs, Sante Belfort, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Gabriele Pellecchia declared a motion of no confidence towards Alex Specter, currently serving as the Atlantis President of the Republic. Specter was soon backed by Vice President Paweł Dworzycki and Ministers Jordan I and Ethan I. The quarrel started when Belfort, at the 10th meeting of the Council of Ministers of Atlantis, accused the President of dictatorship and betrayal. He then threatened to fight against the President and everyone who supported him. After that Carbone personally lead the invasion of Poseidon and created the plot.
The 14 September 2010 Belfort also created the Socialist Federation of Makhnovist, an "alternative" to Poseidon. Anyway the 26 October he signed with Alex Specter the treaty of Empire City.
Belfort after the Civil War
After the Atlantis Civil War Belfort became Minister of Defence of the Republic of Atlantis. During this period he met Flavio Beninati thanks to Alex Specter and then he made Beninati Director of the secret services of the Republic, since his brilliant career in the Atlantis Navy. Belfort made important laws for the defense, like the "Specter-Belfort" defense law that reorganized all the Armed Forces fixing some points that before was not concerned. In this period the military training near Poseidon had a large increase and from that period Atlantis has a professional armed force. The photo on the left shows the "triad" so-called for their enormous contribution to the defense of Atlantis. In fact, in that period Alex Specter was the Prime Minister, Belfort was the Minister of Defence and Flavio Beninati the director of the secret service. Thanks to them the Republic of Atlantis is equipped with extensive facilities for the defense of the territory and the institutions.
Process "Poseidon"
On the morning of 16 September 2011, he was processed and sentenced for trying “sell” a piece of Poseidon to the Federal Republic of St. Charlie. Here an article of the Atlantis Post: "This morning the process “Poseidon” against Belfort, De Felice, and Eastwood for trying “sell” a piece of Poseidon to the Federal Republic of St Charlie ended.
The process ended with the detriment of him since the prosecution had evidence of the fact. Since there was no evidence that Eastwood and De Felice knew about the sale were acquitted. Beninati was a witness that the government didn't give the green light to the selling.
<<Happy that the process ended and that Belfort pays for the crime>> said, Eastwood. Beninati <<A good process with a good end>>.
