The Republic of Runnymede also known as the Runnymeden Republic or simply Runnymede is a Sovereign State located on the East Coast of America which is in North America. The nation is composed of 12 States & Provinces, a Capital Administrative District and 3 overseas territories which span 7 time zones throughout the world. At nearly 19,000 citizens, it is one of the largest Micronations in the world in terms of population, and is also one of the largest in terms of land and economic power and capacity and it is the largest Micronation on the East Coast of the United States. Runnymede was founded shortly before the great depression in the United States, and when the Great Depression hit in 1929 Runnymede pushed for complete Independence from the United States, with it becoming one of the first Micronations in the United States and the World. The nation was founded by Matthew Nicholas who also became the nations first President with him being inaugurated on July 16th, 1922. The nation borders the Republic of Zeprana, Republic of Worrell, and some other minor Micronations as well as seven Macronations all over the world. The Runnymeden Republic soon after it's founding soon found itself as a major Micronation on the world stage with it later becoming a founding member of the Global Micronational Union and the Global Micronational Federation and it establishing alliances with the Republic of Zeprana, Republic of Worrell, Kaiserreich of Springton and many other micronations such as the Republic of Pearlocha, Republic of Yaspaistein, Republic of Sharlino, and many others. Runnymede furthermore attempted and still does act as one of the most serious Micronations, with it holding its government employees and public administration members to a macronational-like code of conduct, etc.
Runnymede is a highly developed Micronation and is even highly developed by Macronational terms with low un-employment rates and high personal and high household incomes. The nation has a business and corporate friendly tax rate leading to a higher GDP than most Micronations across the world abroad. During the early-days of the Principality of Runnymede, Matthew Cunningham had coal imported into the nation from the Dominion of North British America making Runnymede the largest importer of coal from the DNBA. Although the nation accounts for only 1.2% of the Micronational Worlds population, it accounts for roughly 17.9% of the Micronational Worlds GDP. Runnymede is a former member of the Micronational Assembly and is also a former member of the Great Micronational Alliance before it pulled out of both of them when an act of Parliament was passed to do so.
It has limited maritime borders to Canada and Russia. With a population of around 19,000 roughly, Runnymede ranks as one of the large sized- populated Micronations of the United States and of North America as a whole. The national capital of Runnymede is Amesston with the most populous city being Amesston also. The LENS-Runnymede War resulted in a 9 Month dissolution and inactive period where Runnymede was dissolved / defunct as a nation however it was "Re-Founded" on December 7th, 2021 by Zoe Madgett. Runnymede is considered a Superpower by Micronational Terms with it having much more land area than other Micronations and more than even some Macronations such as Monaco and Vatican City.
Runnymede's Anti-Elarian History
The Runnymeden Republic had a history regarding Elarians and Ela'r'oech and has had major accusations of Anti-Elarian behavior. These claims have mainly been supported through screenshots and quotes used against popular Runnymedens, such as the former President and major members of Parliament. Later on, the Prince of Runnymede proved the accusations true which is featured in a screenshot.
The term "Anti-Elarian" mainly started being used on November 1st, 2020.
- The prince says, "This country is such a mess", to which Elarian Parliament member Williams responds "Anti Elarianism"
- The prince admits to being "Anti-Elarian" after constant accusations mainly from Williams and Charles
- Brandon Jacobs, a new member of the community chimes in after Liam - a parliament member of Runnymede - asks "Why me?" after being prosecuted, Puffs responds, "as Charles calls it, "Anti Elarian"
- Liam stated that all "Elarian Sympathizers" would be banned
- Brandon Jacobs states "And I take it all Elarian Sympathizers will be banned soon"
The end of Anti-Elarian behavior came in the form of Charles' policies as the Prime Minister of Runnymede. After months of attempting to become the Prime Minister, he is the first Elarian and Independent (later changed to Conservative) in office. He introduced policies that prohibited discrimination legally and personally for anyone regardless of nationality, it was however made specifically known that Elarians were also counted in this.
Other accusations of Anti-Elarian Discriminatory Harassment came up during the Worrellian Presidential Election when Terry McKeen III, Matthew Cunningham and Daen Guut were accused of harassing members of Elarian Parliament.
Geography & Biodiversity
The Republic of Runnymede is mainly situated alongside the east coast of the United States of America particularly within the New England Sector, even more specifically, the Rhode Island Sector. The nation experiences mild winters which are becoming more and more mild with summers getting more and more intense. The nation is prone to experience snow storms during the winter which commonly knock down tree's and cut off power. Rain storms and hurricanes hit moderately often during the late summer months however they have rarely caused major damage to the nation. Tree's common to the area are large oak and pine trees which can be seen growing thought, near, and around the nation which provide a habitat for animals. The nation shares a similar region to that of the State of Faltree, Kingdom of Fontasia, Federal Republic of Ocean States and the rest of the New England Sector and Rhode Island Sector. The nation is counted as moderately diverse with it being home to many forms of animals, birds, and bugs, alongside fish that live offshore in the oceans. The nations land is primarily inhabited by animals such as White Tail Deer, Rabits, Coyotes, and other forms of land animals, in the skies surrounding the nation the most common birds are forms of Cardinals, Finches, & Hens and other types of small birds with Various Types of Pheasant also inhabiting much of the nation. During the summer months, insects such as Yellow Jackets & Wasps inhabit the nation with them being accompanied by a variety of other fauna in the insect group such as Large Moths, Fire Ants and others, the seas around Runnymede and bordering the nation are mostly filled with small and medium sized fish, however Great White Sharks have been reported in the area.
A majority of the marine life of the Republic of Runnymede is off the coast of the New England Sector and the Rhode Island Sector with a majority of the sea based land of Republic of Runnymede being within these sectors. Seasonal visitors to the waters of the Republic of Runnymede include Harp Seals, Gray Seals, and types of Harbor Seals, other seasonal visitors to the waters around the nation are dolphins and great white sharks. They can be spotted within the territorial waters of the Republic of Runnymede and of that of the United States. Other animals that can be founded in the ocean are species of crabs which well in the various breech ways that can be found through the nation and the region surrounding it.
With the Republic of Zeprana being a coastal Micronation with it being situated upon the Atlantic Ocean a majority of the food eaten by Zepranan's comes from the ocean in some form with some of the most popular food during the summer months being Fish & Chips with them being produced at Cape Cod. Fish and Chips is a common food of the Zepranan Aristocracy with it being a favorite of both the Prime Minister and the President. Fish and chips are a common food that can be commonly found near and around Zeprana with a majority of the restaurants in the area serving the dish year round. Other forms of fish and chips that are eaten are the alternative British Fish and Chips. Another common food within the Republic of Zeprana is steak and other forms of red meat. It has been a common American and Elarian food for years with it now being one of the most common Zepranan Food besides for fish and chips. Steak typically comes in company with dishes such as noodles and other forms of pasta and sauce. Steak is another common form of food that can be found year round in mos restaurants near and around the nation. Steak is one of the most common foods eaten by citizens of Zeprana who live in the nation and abroad with it being a common food throughout the entire world particularly the United States and North America, it is a classical food within the New England Sector and the Rhode Island Sector with it being traced back hundreds of years.
Dilu Beech International Territory is one of the smallest yet influential territories, the land was gifted to Runnymede by Kingdom of Fontasia however these claims by the Kingdom of Fontasia was later revoked by the Kingdom with it causing a small international land dispute. The land is officially international territory with all nations be welcome to use it with nations such as the Democratic Christian Republic of Melite, Most Serene Republic of Richensland, Kingdom of Fontasia, Empire of Meritia, and others with it being a stateless area with Melite currently leasing the land. Dilu Beech is a rural area with a small population positioned on the Cape Cod Peninsula in the Macronational State of Massachusetts with it being roughly 20 yards out in the Atlantic ocean, a small wooden bridge connects the land to the rest of the mainland territory. The International Territory is the newest territory acquired by the Runnymede, the land is populated by creatures like small crabs and in the water's surrounding it the territory have fish such as Cod and Sea Bass which can be fished and eaten and are apart of the national dishes. The Province of Springmede is the oldest Province within the Runnymede with it being formed after the foundation of the Republic and the Collapse of the Republic of Worrell when Charles Madgett created the Empire of Worrell after the Worrellian Civil War. The name comes from the two nations that were once native to the area, Springton and Runnymede. The Province is the residence of the Prime Minister of the Republic also. The Province of Springmede has a mild temperature with a mild summer and winter climate during the winter months. The Province is particularly filled with houses with it being classified as a suburb; it is the largest suburb within the Runnymede.
he Province of New Rhode Island is one of Zeprana's many provinces and territories within the Rhode Island Sector and New England Sector with it also being one of the largest provinces claimed by the Commonwealth of Zeprana. The territory was established in the early months on the Island of Block Island. The province is one of the many provinces of the Commonwealth of Zeprana bordering an ocean, the Province of New Rhode Island specifically borders the Atlantic ocean and Block Island. The Province is administered the President of the Commonwealth, Terry McKeen, with him permanently living near the region. There have also been talks in the Parliament of making the province the new national capital, removing the seat from Amesston, with it currently being the seat of the government and of the capital of the Commonwealth of Zeprana. The Province also have a moderate temperature and climate with it being still on the East Coast of the United States, however, it is mainly separated from the rest of the world with it being an isolated part of an island known as Block Island, a part of Rhode Island.
