Riley Small (application to strip GA status)

Msander 10:05, 7 December 2011 (GMT)
  • SUPPORT - multiple errors: ‘Small is the former Chancellor of the Republic of Skendal and was once the De facto dictator of Kozuc’ should have a lower-case ‘d’ in de facto. ‘During the short existance of the Khanate, however, Small earned his reputation back and became a much more influential micronationalist’ is ugly writing. ‘Since then, a large burst of activity has moved Kozuc to become a a Republic’ duplicates ‘a’s, and moved is the wrong verb. ‘Riley Small had, prior to his appointment as Overseas Ambassador of St.Charlie, few notable events in foreign relations’ isn’t a grammatical sentence. ‘Istoria, after claiming that St.Charlie was a dictatorship and he would not recognize the legitimate government, Istoria was dissolved after condemnation’ is unclear: who is ‘he’? ‘Riley's entering to the microwiki community’ fails to correctly capitalise a proper noun. ‘Small was activily’ uses a non-real word. Due to these, I believe that the article Riley Small fails the GA criterion ‘well-written’, and should thus be stripped of its GA status. Msander 10:05, 7 December 2011 (GMT)
  • Oppose How about no, if you think there is a large amount of areas can you please just fix it or something? It is still a good article --Rsmall, friendly Patroller and CopyEditor 15:06, 7 December 2011 (GMT)
  • OPPOSE How about fixing the mistakes, because if you think that it must be prefect (which means Yabloko is the only GA) you should fix the article. They are easily fixable. / Matthew Burklandssen  My Talk Page  Burkland  16:45, 7 December 2011 (GMT)
  • OPPOSE Fix the errors, it's a good article and should stay that way. FreedomianEmpire 02:37, 1 January 2012 (GMT)

Þeûdspråxa (application to strip GA status)

 ~~♥~~ Jeremy Oakes (words • deeds)  05:42, 23 December 2011 (GMT)
  • SUPPORT — Content is fine, but has numerous errors, grammatical and in code. Not wikified. Requires extensive editing to restore to GA status.  ~~♥~~ Jeremy Oakes (words • deeds)  05:42, 23 December 2011 (GMT)
  • OPPOSE - Errors in appearance, grammar and coding should be addressed first before giving it GA status. Contribs. 23:25, 26 December 2011 (GMT)
    • Those sound like reasons to support removing GA status, but you're opposing it?  ~~♥~~ Jeremy Oakes (words • deeds)  01:23, 27 December 2011 (GMT)
  • SUPPORT --Rsmall, friendly Patroller and CopyEditor 23:26, 26 December 2011 (GMT)
  • SUPPORT Article is also incomplete. § Fishy § (TalkContribsWebsite) 07:23, 27 December 2011 (GMT)
  • SUPPORT The article is far away from completion. The Wikipedia article links in that page also requires an edit. --His Exellency, President Adriansyah Yassin Sulaeman OFR MOF OBY OZL OOS ICO IOF . 15:58, 27 December 2011 (GMT)
  • SUPPORT No where near a good article. / Matthew Burklandssen  My Talk Page  Burkland  02:38, 1 January 2012 (GMT)
  • SUPPORT Not a good article Mark Williams II, Prime Minister of Freedomia 05:16, 1 January 2012 (GMT)
  • SUPPORT As above. Size doesn't automatically mean that it's a good article. Pet Fluffy (Talk) 08:38, 1 January 2012 (GMT)
  • SUPPORT Prime Minister of Indokistan, Nabil Ihsan 12:16, 1 January 2012 (GMT)
  • Comment GA status is intended to only apply to whatever was the most recent revision of the article when it was made a GA, and the article has been expanded since then and become worse at fulfilling the GA criteria, but even the approved revision is unwikified and displays numerous indications of incompleteness.  ~~♥~~ Jeremy Oakes (words • deeds)  15:19, 1 January 2012 (GMT)

Freedomia

Mark Williams II: FreedomianEmpire 02:35, 1 January 2012 (GMT) </small?>

I believe that we have dramatically improved our microwiki page. I support granting it good article status.

  • SUPPORT Very good. / Matthew Burklandssen  My Talk Page  Burkland  02:40, 1 January 2012 (GMT)
  • OPPOSE Grammar mistake in the second sentence in, a quick skim through also revealed formatting inconsistencies. Pet Fluffy (Talk) 08:38, 1 January 2012 (GMT)
  • 'COMMENT' I fixed the article up, Austenasia. How do you like it now? Mark Williams II, Prime Minister of Freedomia 18:32, 1 January 2012 (GMT)
  • OPPOSE This is exactly the sort of thing that I mentioned recently. Please please just get a staff member or someone to look at an article for your if you're unsure about any of the nomination criteria, before you nominate an article. Anyway, from a quick glance, the grammar and style of this article is pretty rudimentary and needs a copyedit (Criterion 1). The formatting and organisation of the article also needs quite a bit of improvement (Criterion 6). Also, the Freedomia navbox needs fixing, as it lists the Empire-Republic of Freedomia (which is an oxymoron, might I add) in the 'Navbox templates' category. § Fishy § (TalkContribsWebsite) 03:21, 2 January 2012 (GMT)
  • OPPOSE --Rsmall, friendly Patroller and CopyEditor 04:51, 3 January 2012 (GMT)
  • OPPOSE: Please perform a cursory glance over the criteria and article before nominating for GA.  ~~♥~~ Jeremy Oakes (words • deeds)  06:30, 6 January 2012 (GMT)

    Principality of Rathunis (TalkContribs)
  • SUPPORT --HM King Anthony, King of Zealandia, Field Marshal RZA, Chief Constable RZC 13:34, 14 January 2012 (GMT)
  • OPPOSE To start if off, use the standard infobox, then try to check neutrality somewhere, eventually the "Background" section which sounds like a tourism advert. --Cajak 14:12, 14 January 2012 (GMT)
  • OPPOSE For the same reasons as Cajak; you even have paragraphs which are a single sentence long. The Droughtmasters are cute though :3 Pet Fluffy (Talk) 14:19, 14 January 2012 (GMT)
  • OPPOSE You know I really love Rathunis (for reasons that need not be mentioned) but I have to agree with Cajak. I've always had an issue with that infobox, you have to change it. That said, I don't really see the problem with the "Background" section. DA, the Siroccan Premier. 19:13, 14 January 2012 (GMT)
  • OPPOSE My god, you’re still active! Squee~ Nice illustration and referencing, but needs more content. I personally have no objection to the non-standard inbox, but there you go. M. of the tongueof the hands 09:25, 16 January 2012 (GMT)

Kingdom of Wyvern

I think Quentin did a great job on this article and he deserves this. HG the Duke of Dullahan, Prime-Minister of Wyvern - Talk 08:35, 20 January 2012 (GMT)

  • SUPPORT Ofcourse --HG the Duke of Dullahan, Prime-Minister of Wyvern - Talk 08:35, 20 January 2012 (GMT)
  • OPPOSE - "I'd vote against it myself - it's horribly outdated and patchy": the words of Quentin himself. Pet Fluffy (Talk) 15:45, 20 January 2012 (GMT)
  • OPPOSE - Lacks references, descriptions on images, which seem like they've been put randomly, and there's a wall of text in several cases. Check it again. --Cajak 04:23, 21 January 2012 (GMT)

Antarctic Micronational Union

Nominator: Niels of Flandrensis
  • SUPPORT --Sebastian Linden 10:02, 21 January 2012 (GMT)
  • COMMENT Without voting against it entirely, there are a few minor formatting issues with the article. There's no 'External links' or 'See also' section and there are a few irregular styling issues, like 'click here to read the charter' and the like. § Fishy § (TalkContribsWebsite) 10:38, 21 January 2012 (GMT)
  • OPPOSE: unreferenced, could have more illustration. M. of the tongueof the hands 07:17, 22 January 2012 (GMT)

National Centre of Computing (Sirocco)

Nominator: Daniel Anderson

I'm putting this here because I'd like to know if there's anything you guys can recommend to lift this to Good Article level, if it's not there already. DA, the Siroccan Premier. 22:41, 24 January 2012 (GMT)

  • OPPOSE – GA noms aren’t supposed to be used for a critique. Definitely has potential, but needs more information and analysis. It’s well-written, neutral, accurate, referenced, and illustrated, but the structure could use work, and it leaves me wanting to read more. Try putting in more prose. Having said, this is the best GA nom I’ve seen in a long time. M. of the tongueof the hands 23:22, 24 January 2012 (GMT)

Juclandia

Nominator: Ciprian IJuclandia 17:22, 10 February 2012 (GMT)

It was copy edited by Jonathan Caesar, I structured it as good as was possible, it has illustrated content. Ciprian IJuclandia 17:22, 10 February 2012 (GMT)

  • SUPPORT the manthe myththe legend 18:54, 10 February 2012 (GMT)
    • COMMENT You are reminded, Puglisi, that the success of a given GA nom is judged on the comments made, not by a vote. >CD C:\MSANDER.TLK_  21:44, 10 February 2012 (GMT)
  • WEAK OPPOSE It still needs copyediting. I’m not going to give examples, because they’re all obvious minor things, and people bitch whenever I give examples. Denom it, go over the text, and renom a week later. As far as I can see, the content is excellent, though. >CD C:\MSANDER.TLK_  21:43, 10 February 2012 (GMT)

  • OPPOSE: It's not the article's content that's the subject here btw. This still needs quite a few improvements, especially with regards to style. Dr. Freeman (TalkContribsWebsite) 23:23, 2 April 2012 (GMT)
  • SUPPORT: It is very Wikipedia-looking, it has good grammar, it gives a lot information in a nice, organized manner. / Matthew Burklandssen  My Talk Page  Burkland  23:29, 2 April 2012 (GMT)
  • COMMENT: I see what your saying, but I really think I has a good style. It gives a large amount of info and is well-written overall. Can you please give some more improvements?  Christian SandsMy Talk Page Amager 23:34, 2 April 2012 (GMT)
  • SUPPORT: This is just as good as Überstadt's article when it was approved. A good article need not be perfect, but should always improve. I will personally see to several improvements. 04:13, 3 April 2012 (GMT)
    • COMMENT: If you think that it needs improvement then don't support it. Also, a good article has to be pretty well perfect - that's the entire point of it. If one criterion is not met, then that's pretty much an automatic disqualification. Read this for more information thanks. Dr. Freeman (TalkContribsWebsite) 11:02, 3 April 2012 (GMT)

Union of Nemkhav Communists

  • SUPPORT: Heh, its simmilar in content and length to the CCP on wikipedia, and a few people have commented that its well written, so into the frying pan it goes. >  Vitcash, the happy Communist Talk n' Edits  -- 11:20, 8 April 2012 (GMT)
  • SUPPORT: Pretty good for an article of its kind (an article about a political party) Ciprian IJuclandia 18:38, 8 April 2012 (GMT)
  • SUPPORT: What Cip said. With regards, B.Neil, (Talk | Contribs) 19:18, 8 April 2012 (GMT)
  • COMMENT: It is indeed a very good effort, but there are still a number of small grammatical errors which stop me from supporting the nomination outright (mainly to do with random capitalisation). Dr. Freeman (TalkContribsWebsite) 23:21, 8 April 2012 (GMT)

Juclandia

Nominator: Ciprian IJuclandia 11:30, 8 April 2012 (GMT) It was again copy-edited, it is well-written and well-structured.

  • SUPPORT: Even Michael Sander has said that this is a very good article to be elevated. Ciprian IJuclandia 11:30, 8 April 2012 (GMT)
  • SUPPORT: Well written. the manthe myththe legend 11:31, 8 April 2012 (GMT)
  • SUPPORT: Could use a few more photos, but this is definitely one of the best articles on the wiki. I especially like how you've done the political parties. GA this or I'll divide by zero. DA, the Siroccan Premier. 11:38, 8 April 2012 (GMT)
  • SUPPORT: I agree with Sirocco. Luxor STAFF (Talk, Contributions) Luxor 11:41, 8 April 2012 (GMT)
  • SUPPORT: Well written, good grammer.  Christian SandsMy Talk Page Amager 16:15, 8 April 2012 (GMT)
  • SUPPORT: Tis a good article. With regards, B.Neil, (Talk | Contribs) 19:18, 8 April 2012 (GMT)
  • SUPPORT: A good article indeed Tom Turner 22:21, 8 April 2012 (GMT)
  • OPPOSE: Seriously? There's at least one major grammatical/spelling error in each section, plus there are only three pictures for a fairly lengthy article (and all in the same place). This is inconsistent with two criteria: 1 and 5. Granted, the pictures issue is not personally a vote changer, given that only one or two more pictures would be required to satisfy the fifth criterion, but the spelling and grammar is. Even a cursory glance at the article reveals many fairly serious spelling and grammar errors (i.e. not just random capitalisations, of which there are many anyway). Dr. Freeman (TalkContribsWebsite) 23:27, 8 April 2012 (GMT)
  • OPPOSE: Yeah, gotta agree with Fishy on this. After going back through the article, it's obvious it's almost there, but it still needs some adjustments. A cleanup of contradictory sentences and stuff like that is in order, and once that's done I'll have no qualms with voting for this as a GA. DA, the Siroccan Premier. 23:58, 8 April 2012 (GMT)
  • COMMENT: I've made a look up at the article again, and maybe it's not my lack of nativity in English, but I don't see any problem that I'm aware of. Also, I may see that there are a lot of Good Articles that have a worse quality in comparison to Juclandia's one, especially in grammar. Ciprian IJuclandia 09:28, 9 April 2012 (GMT)
    • COMMENT: I've looked quite extensively at it and I can quite safely say that the statements made above are quite correct. "Previous GAs are now rubbish" is not a valid argument. They were of GA quality when they were nominated (hopefully anyway), and if not then you should nominate them for being stripped of their GA status. Dr. Freeman (TalkContribsWebsite) 10:00, 9 April 2012 (GMT)
  • SUPPORT: Comprehensive article. If there are still any minor errors, they can be easily corrected. Of a high standard of quality.--PendaIronhand 20:20, 10 April 2012 (GMT)

Deemed to meet all GA criteria, except for simple grammatical errors which were soon fixed, last time it was nominated. Has not otherwise been significantly altered since the last nomination.  ~~♥~~ Jeremy Oakes (words • deeds)  14:36, 8 May 2012 (GMT)
