On 15 December 2023, the Freedom Brigades and the MADF, which would be named the freedom coalition lead by Axel Himberg, would start coup against the imperial government of the French Republic. The freedom coalition would beging the coup in the imperial house. Small clashes would begin between the Imperial police and army against the freedom coalition. The freedom coaliton would advance into the archive room and destory everything inside. Many of the Imperial police would join on the side of the freedom coalition as Himberg was leading it and many still saw Himberg as the emperor. The freedom coalition would tear up all French Republic flags and documents. In the end the freedom coaliton would take controll and dissolve the French Republic forming the Åland State.
Background
The coup was to change the government from a Unitary Bonapartist absolute monarchy to a Unitary one-party Ålanist state under a totalitarian dictatorship lead by Himberg. Himberg, the former emperor would be the leader of the coup to gain more power. Planning of the coup began on 13 December and preperations where made on 14 Decemebr till the 15 December where the coup would take place.
Coup d'état
The coup began when the freedom coalition entered the imperial house of the French Republic. Small clashes between the imperial police and army against the freedom coalition. The freedom coalition would head into the arvhive room and tear up the constitution and flags. Some of the imperial police and army would join the freedom coalition as Himberg was leading it and many still saw Himberg as the leader. The freedom coalition would decalre victory and the coup would be successful. The Åland State would be founded by the MADF and Freedom Brigades.
Aftermath
After the coup the former land of the French Republic would have no government and would be de facto ruled by the MADF as the Freedom Brigades would leave to Godby. The Freedom Brigades would take over the puppet state of Äventyret the next day leading to the official end of the French Republic. The Åland State would be officialy established when in January 2024 when the 2024 Åland State Enabling act and the Constitution of the Åland State would be signed.
