Zealandian Greens - De Gröna, Party of Independence known as the Zealandian Greens was a political party in Zealandia. The Zealandian Greens where closely affiliated with the Zealandian labour movement and Unions Zealandia. Zealandian Greens was a multi-tendency socialist and environmental party.
The Zealandian Greens has with a few breaks governed Zealandia through it's various incarnations since it's inception.
Zealandian Greens, like it's Australian counterpart, the NSW Greens and its Swedish counterpart the Swedish Left Party had strong sense of equality.
Zealandian Greens has stated that it's goal in Zealandia is partially to support the democratic socialisation of industry, production, distribution and exchange, to the extent necessary to eliminate exploitation and other anti-social features in relation to these areas and to maintain Zealandian independence and support of the Zealandian monarchy.
History
The Zealandian Greens can trace its historical roots back to the two founding political parties of then Kingdom of Zealandia, the Progressive Party of Zealandia and the Social Democratic Party which merged together in late 2010 to form the Social Democratic Party of Zealandia.
The early history of the Zealandian Greens is considered it's two golden ages, where the party was led by Robert Kennedy and then Sebastian Linden.
The Social Democratic Party thorough the then Kingdom of Zealandia underwent many changes of leader and ideologies some of which where reflected in the name of the party changing, the most proflic period being under the leadership of communist Dr Joseph Puglisi which saw the adoption of three names:
Under Puglisi the ZApLI under the above previous names introduced a number of ideologies to the party:
- Marxism-Leninism
- Forkliftism
- Markssenism
- Jawhnaðarstena (or Zealandian socialism)
- Gnarrism (based off the principles of Icelandic politican Jon Gnarr)
The Zealandian Greens found itself at odds with mainstream politics for awhile after the then leader Dr Puglisi defected to the Zealandian Workers Party during the last days of the Federal Republic of Zealandia, which is considered one of the major events in the lead up the February Statskupp which Alternative! supported.
The Zealandian Greens was instrumental in seeing the Zealandian Workers' Party being banned by the electoral authorities of Zealandia.
Following the Statskupp, the Zealandian Greens found itself at the forefront of efforts to rebuild Zealandia into a modern democratic state, these efforts are continuing to be carried out by the current leadership.
In January 2014 the party changed its name from Zealandian Alternative, party of Independence and Labour (ZApLI) to Alternative! Independence and Labour Party, followed a year later to its current name of the Zealandian Greens with the party focusing on social justice, socialism and the environment.
