The presidency of Axel Himberg began on 2 March 2024 right after the 2024 Åland State coup d'état attempt which delayed vote counting so Axel Himberg officialy became president on 28 February 2024. Axel Himberg is the current incubent president of the Åland State. Axel Himberg became president after beating Wilmer Himberg in the 2024 Åland State presidential election. Axel Himberg would also be the leader and founder of the Åland Party.

Administration

Cabinet

Axel Himberg had not chosen his cabinet before the election. On 11 April 2024, Wilmer Himberg would be appointed as vice president and speaker of parliament but was for a short time during June 2024 kicked from this position by Marius Åkerblom but Wilmer Himberg became vice president again. No chief of justice has been chosen.

Domestic affairs

Economy

Agriculture

On 10 July, Himberg would put 50% tax on every wild strawberry (Fragaria vesca) from a farm not including wild ones only ones grown in farms. This would be a economic strategy to make banknotes in the Åland State worth more by attaching them to domestic products. The plan was for the government to invest into the farm and take back half since the goal was not direct profit. Wilmer Himberg would make a wild strawberry farm and use the money after taxes to buy the land.

Trade

On 7 July 2024, Himberg would sign the second executive order and third executive order which raised tariffs on lumber, blueberries and raspberries by 50% to Jurassicland and the Marius Empire excluding Finland from the tariffs.

Government

On 28 May Himberg would sign the 2024 Åland State Government Reform Act where the parliament would be suspended untill the 1 June. Marius Åkerblom would become vice president when he would come back and elections would be suspended.

Municipalities

On 28 June 2024, Himberg would sign the 2024 Åland State island municipality act where Suggrund would be incorpirated with the island of Långgrunds in to the Islands area.

Security

Axel Himberg would sign the first executive order banning refugees from specific war zones and citizens from countries that the Åland State does not recognize. These included Syria, Iraq, Israel, Palestine and Myanmar. This was signed to stop refugees from entering the Åland State since the Åland State was so small. It was also for border security.

Foreign affairs

The 2024 Åland State Recognition Act which would state what countries the Åland State recognize would be signed by Axel Himberg on 29 March 2024. The act had the Åland State unrecognize North Korea, South Korea, Israel, Palestine and the Weastern Sahara and specifically recognize Kosovo, Taiwan, Transnistria, Somaliland, Northern Cyprus, South Ossetia, Abkhazia, Sovereign Military Order of Malta, Marius Empire and Jurassicland.

Empire of Medieval

The Empire of Medieval would be founded who would invade the Marius Empire. This would lead to the signing of the Åland State-Jurassicland Mutual Defence Agreement by Axel Himberg and allowing Jurassicland to join the Långgrunds Defence Pact. The Åland Armed Forces and Jurassicland military would conduct Operation SOW to gather information on the military of Medieval. On 14 April 2024, the Långgrunds Defence Pact would invade Medieval and capture their "castle". The Åland State would win the war.
