The Chief of the General Staff (CGS) is the second-most senior member of the Vishwamitran Armed Forces (after the Commander-in-Chief) having primary responsibility for command, control, and administration of the forces, as well as military strategy, plans, and requirements. The position is usually held by an four-star general member of one of the main branches of the Vishwamitran Armed Forces. The current Chief of the General Staff, since 17 February 2021, is General Arturo Lara GCL GCV.
The role of the Chief of the General Staff is to, under the advice of the Supreme Commander may conscript citizens. On his own authority, he may give orders on force-wide levels.
