On January 8, 2023, supporters of former Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro invaded the Praça dos Três Poderes, attacking the Supreme Federal Court, National Congress, and Presidential Palace of Brazil. This was due to Bolsonaro's defeat to his opponent, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

Rino Island - The Republic of Rino Island released a brief statement condemning the "coup attempt by the Brazilian extreme right" (sic). The Rino Island Government stated that it would break any existing relationship with entities that support the protests in Brazil.^[1]
