On January 8, 2023, supporters of former Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro invaded the Praça dos Três Poderes, attacking the Supreme Federal Court, National Congress, and Presidential Palace of Brazil. This was due to Bolsonaro's defeat to his opponent, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
