The Island of Saint John (Italian: Isola di San Giovanni), formerly Insula Maiestatis, is a small principality under the rule of the Landopian crown.
Etimology
The first name, Insula Maiestatis, was the Latin term literally meaning "Royal Island", which took its name from the King's request for a new crown possession to expand the title of the royal family. After the decree and the name change, the etymology of the name has changed. The island is dedicated to Saint John, apostle of Jesus Christ.
History
On 12 July 2024, the foundation of the insula Maiestatis, the first possession of the Landopian crown, was officially proclaimed. Currently the island is not inhabited by any type of inhabitant with Landopian citizenship.
On October 8th the King, with a decree, proclaimed the name change from "Insula Maiestatis" to "Island of Saint John" (Italian: Isola di San Giovanni). The name change was due to the fact that the previous one was difficult for foreigners to pronounce, so a name that could be translated into all languages was chosen.
