Swapardeshi Meizcherni, or Deshi, is an Easwegian public official and academic who has served as the 5th President of the United Common Assembly and as prefect of Boriopa Centrum's Great Lakes since 2023. She has also served as Grand Lady of Easway since 2024 as the Tannudhara or hostess of the first Tannustad of the Easwegians, Emizerri. Swapardeshi rose to public presence as a member of the nation's post-foundation avant-garde community in early 2021, whereby new youth emigrated to the then termed Realm after the Founders had established a coherent societal framework. Renowned as a talented scholar and thinker, Swapardeshi presented herself as an independent voice, set apart from the partisan struggles which marked Easway in 2021. Standing in July 2021 as Bear Island Director of Business and Labour, Swapardeshi became the first woman elected to the National Directorate and the second-ever female representative in Easway. A student of psychology, her time in office has been considered meritocratic as she has applied her studied knowledge.
Swapardeshi has never been a member of any political party, instead fostering what she terms Easwegian Centrism, believing scientific research, global participation, and moderate social stances should be the source of public policy. Emizerri, Easway's paramount founder and then state chief, took Swapardeshi under his wing as his closest disciple. Together as two independent politicians, they formulated the national philosophy of the Seven Masts and angled the Co-operative Government towards focusing on humanitarianism and subsidiarity. Swapardeshi supported the September 2021 Anti-Extremism Act, which challenged the ideologies of major parties. Stalwart in completing Emizerri's non-aligned subsidiarity agenda, Swapardeshi gained opponents during this period, both from the left and the right as she was seen as a disruptive force, or in other words, she had the ear of Emizerri to their detriment. Due to this pressure and other factors, Swapardeshi resigned as Director in September 2021. She again attempted to regain a seat in the December 2021 Easwegian elections, first as Marquis of Essrina coming third[1], and second in her old directorate role resulting in a shock popular tie and losing within the following Assembly vote. The Supreme Court of Easway considered a case the day after the election that argued Swapardeshi had unknowingly handled sensitive data improperly and voted to disallow her from public office with 2 votes in favour, 1 against and 4 abstentions. Swapardeshi took the result in stride, "promising the Gods she would learn from her mistakes." Emizerri later came to regret this decision and offered her clemency in August 2023, which she accepted.[2]
Swapardeshi was elected to succeed Metallityöt as 5th Assembly President on 25 November 2023 as part of the new Squ Bai administration, becoming the first woman to hold a grand office of state, which includes in order of seniority the Grand Councillor, the General Director and the President. Additionally, when Syri vi Ezerrye temporarily stepped away from his duties as General Director on 20 June 2024, per the Constitution, she stepped up as acting General Director and, for the first time since its 2017 founding, Easway saw a woman hold the powers of chief of government.
Early and personal life
Swapardeshi is of Indian heritage. She has studied a bachelor in business and administration, a versatile degree in high demand. She is a practicing Hindu, a historical faith of Ezaari Easwegians.
Swapardeshi sits on the commission of the Federation of Easwegian Women, an independent committee which promotes female participation in the workforce and public life. She was elected to this position on 22 August 2023. On 25 February 2023, Grand Councillor Squ Bai awarded her with the Order of the White Sun for "her contributions in service of womens' rights and psychological education for the public."[3]
Swapardeshi is an avid fan of classical music and folk songs. She has also contributed to saving old media through the Internet Archive.
Political History (2021)
Swapardeshi entered the political scene when she stood as an independent in the July 2021 Directorate of Housing & Community By-Election, beating out two candidates with 53.8% of the vote. At this period, she stood as the first female elected representative of the Easwegian Government since the Provisional Period, and the second-most ever since founder Railiyde. Her political platform was independent and progressive, and she was identified as a close ally of the then chief of state Emizerri.
Bills Swapardeshi Voted on
- 13 July 2021 - Voted yes on a failed bill that would remove the 'Imperium' that was co-held by Emperor Emizerri the chief of state, and Squ Bai the Marquis of the Pomors, to both amend and addend the Constitution if they saw it as a necessity, as well as signing off on all Constitutional amendments for them to pass. Whilst this bill failed to move forward past the assembly stage, it was eventually enacted on 14 July 2022 through the successes of the Transitional Movement and the agreement of Emizerri and Squ Bai.
- 21 July 2021, Ryke Yse Islands Act - Voted yes to a successful bill that incorporated the eastern Svalbard islands of Ryke Yse into Easway within today's Pomors Frontier commonwealth.
- 28 July 2021, Service-Representative Conflict of Interest -Voted yes on a successful Act which prohibited the Grand Marshal from simultaneously holding public office. Led to the resignation of Hellmut as Grand Marshal and the appointment of Kasimo as his replacement. Hellmut would henceforth seek to use his party the HPE to oust Swapardeshi from her directorial position in revenge.
- 24 August 2021, Seven Masts Act - Voted yes in a successful constitutional act which added the Seven Masts philosophy, crafted by Emizerri; including nationalism, statism, federalism, directorialism, secularism, humanitarianism and co-operatism. Later on, nationalism and statism was revised into sovereigntism and localism.
- 6 September 2021, Prohibition of Extremism Act-Voted yes in a successful act which prohibits Easwegian organisations from identifying by or carrying out fascism and despotism.
- 16 September 2021, Secret Intelligence Service Act - Voted yes on a successful bill which constitutionally limited the Common Security Force, Easway's intelligence service.
President of the United Common Assembly
Swapardeshi was elected unanimously as prefect of Boriopa Centrum's Lake Valley & Waterfork following the November 2023 Easwegian Assembly elections, and was nominated by then outgoing Grand Councillor Emizerri to become the President of the United Common Assembly, Easway's federal parliament. She received 7 aye votes to 5 abstentions and took her seat as prefect and 5th President of the United Common Assembly on 25 November 2023, becoming the first ever female president.
Tannustad Emizerri established the position of Grand Advocate (later renamed to Tannudhara, lit. heavenly supporter) on 26 February 2024 and appointed Swapardeshi, his long time disciple, in the new role for "her services in leading the scientific field in Easway, specifically in the arena of psychology." With the permission of Grand Councillor Squ Bai, Swapardeshi was approved to simultaneously serve as the Grand Lady of Easway to Emizerri, with himself stating he held deep affinity with her and saw potential of her becoming an effective partner in future Easwegian nationbuilding. By this role Swapardeshi adopted the honourific name shared with Emizerri of Meizcherni (meaning Major) and holds the status as the leading female national and cultural figure within the Common Union.[4]
Biarmian Declaration
Swapardeshi called a public session of the United Common Assembly to announce the plans of the Co-operative Government for Easway to lay claim to the historical territory of Biarmia, which in traditional accounts was part of the Easwegian Commonwealth from 1478 to 1580. The Biarmian plans, codenamed Common Order, had been planned primarily by Devaade Raizerni since becoming Marquis of Boriopa Centrum in September 2023 and formed a central part of Squ Bai's campaign pledge for Grand Councillor.
"My fellow Easwegian brothers and sisters, As the President of the Assembly, it is my pleasure to introduce the Co-operative Government's official map plans for a unified Easway. We are ready to set our mission for a unified home, as the:
Common Union of Easway on Biarmia and the Svalbard Isles
Debates should begin between assembly members on the merits of our planned claims on Biarmia, also known as Mainland Boriopa."
The bill was successful and Easway officially laid claim to Biarmia on 31 January 2024.
