Scientopia was the first nation to to be run under a system of Weighted Democracy. Stigistan and Bokonton utilise a similar purely micronational system.

Principles Behind Weighted Democracy

The idea of a democracy, but one in which not all votes are equal was inspired in part by by a line from NOFX's song "The Idiots Are Taking Over". The line was simply "Political Scientists get the same one vote as some Arkansas inbred". This got the Tsar Royalé of Scientopia thinking about a way to rememdy this problem, without giving some people more than one vote. The idea for giving votes a certain, prejudged percentage came when Scientopia was formed.
