The Most Excellent Order of Saint Cæcilia (italian: Eccellentissimo Ordine di Santa Cecilia) is an order of chivalry founded by Carlo I of the Kingdom of Landopia the 5 June 2024. It is the oldest and most prestigious chivalric order in the Landopian honor system, previously surpassed only by the decorations of the Order of Merit of the Kingdom of Landopia and the Royal War Order. The Order is dedicated to the image and symbols of Saint Cecilia, patron saint of the Kingdom of Landopia and of musicians.
Appointments are at the sole discretion of the Monarch. It is reserved exclusively for foreign heads of state. However, in some extremely exceptional circumstances, possible membership of the order is granted to those who have given very important service to the Crown or numerous personal services to the Monarch.
History
King Carlo I founded the order to fill a gap in the British honors system: the Order of Merit of the Kingdom of Landopia already existed, but there was no real hierarchical order of honors of the Kingdom of Landopia. In particular, the king wanted to honor the monarchs and heads of state who had opened diplomatic relations with the Kingdom.
The first members of the Order were King Reuben I of Salanda and Rashtradhyaksh Varuna Sriraya of Vishwamitra, on 6 and 7 June 2024 respectively.
Classes
Of this order there is only one class, namely that of "member". Each member has the right to display, through the collar, the decoration in his personal coat of arms. The post-nominal is MEOSC.
