The Order of Merit of the Kingdom of Landopia (Italian: Ordine al merito del Regno di Landopia) is an order of chivalry founded by Carlo I of the Kingdom of Landopia the 18 February 2022, publicly and officially proclaimed on 5 June 2024 and reorganized on 21 September 2024. It is the main civil chivalric order in the Landopian honor system after the Order of Saint Caecilia. It is the most important order that a land or foreign citizen can receive. Appointments are at the sole discretion of the Monarch.
Requirements
The awarding of honors, decorations and distinctions of chivalry, in any form and denomination, by entities, associations and private individuals other than His Majesty the King is prohibited. As a rule, honors cannot be awarded to foreign or citizens of Landopia who have not reached the age of 14, with the exception of particular reasons that justify the award. Between one honor and another of a higher rank, a stay of at least six months in the lower rank is usually required. Honors cannot be awarded to senators during their parliamentary mandate.
Classes
The Order of Merit of the Kingdom of Landopia is conferred in four ordinary classes:
- Grand Commander (GOMKL)
- Commander (COMKL)
- Knight (KMKL)
- Standard Bearer (SOMKL)
