Edoardo Vittorio I OSME, CMN, MEOSC, OSR, ODS (Italy, 2008) is the current and founder King of Egemonica.

Its micronational career began on 17 January 2021. He has been many times been referred to as Pater Patriæ and often is called, in informal and playful contexts, "Prince" by Egemonican citizens.

After assuming the throne as regent during the first week after the independence of Egemonica, he was confirmed as ruler after the First Plebiscite (Italian: Primo Plebiscito).

Career

Edoardo Vittorio covers high ranking positions in some micronations outside Egemonica, such as in the Curia Ninjoa (Imperial States of Forestria) and in the Kingdom of Arkaland.

In Egemonica, he serves various ministries ad interim which are, for example, the Ministry of Honors, the Ministry of Internationality and the Ministry of Defence.

Politically speaking he always stood as the leading figure in the Egemonican Party.

After almost 4 years of service, Edoardo Vittorio decided to resign and call for the monarch elections in Egemonica. This was not due a disinterest in the micronation, but rather a choice of democracy and justice. In fact, after becoming King Emeritus, he's keeping the position of Secretary of State to rule the country in the absence of a monarch and in order to oversee the upcoming elections.

On 29 October Edoardo Vittorio received honorary citizenship from King Carlo I of Landopia, becoming the ninth citizen of the Kingdom.[1]

Religious views

After his full acknowledgement of the Catholic Faith, the former King published the Edictum Supremum Fidei. The document is a clear statement of submission to the Church of Rome, the recognition of the Pope as the legitimate successor of the Apostle Peter and in general clarification about the customs in the dioceses which have ecclesiastical authority over Egemonica. In a statement, he compared the document to the constitution and affirmed that they were "practically and morally, on the same level", causing minor opposition.

After his Confirmation, which happened at 16 due to his late conversion, he famously said to the Royal Family (mostly made out of atheists and agnostics): "So as I have been anointed with the Spirit of God, so must my people accept my free choice".
