History
Formation
The Jacobs cabinet has been formed on 27 October 2024, following the resignation of Ayane Martinez. The cabinet includes the political forces which formed the Martinez Cabinet and the Labour Party. The Prime Minister presented the Government Program a week after his appointment and he has been criticised by the backbencher politician Dinesh Rajagopalan and the Speaker and Leader of Vision Jewele Olsen for not consulting the Executive Council before presenting it. Later, the Prime Minister apologised for the behaviour, stating he should have consulted the Executive Council and that he had to present it per constitution to avoid the trigger of an automatic motion of confidence against his government, which would make the government appear unprepared to the parliament.[1]
Investiture vote
The program obtained 8 sì (ayes) and 3 boh (abstained). Two of the three Conservative MPs abstained, while their leader voted sì. A MP for PRL abstained.

Motion of No Confidence
On 15 November 2024, the Conservative Unity Party moved a Motion of No Confidence towards the Prime Minister Thomas Jacobs. The motion was supported by Vision and the leader of Vision published an article on The Republic explaining the reasons of the support for the conservative motion. Olsen argued that that the lack of activity, and organisation, for example the failure to consult the executive before posting the government agenda, convinced the party to vote for it. The Motion of No Confidence failed as it received six no, four sì and two abstentions. All conservatives voted for the motion, while only one Visionist MP out of two voted for it.
