Foreign relations of Azzurria

The Most Serene Empire of Azzurria establishes and maintains diplomatic relations with other nations through the Secretary of Foreign Affairs.
The Secretary has the power to grant "states of friendship" and tacit recognition, but official recognition of another nation can only be granted by an Act of the Light Blue Commission or a Royal Decree. In rare case, it can be granted also by a referendum (for example in case of disputes between two or more Nations/Micronations for the same territory or parts of it).
However, the Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Most Serene Empire of Azzurria has the power to ratify treaties of mutual recognition and diplomatic affairs, only after had received the authorization from the Emperors with a Royal Decree.
The Most Serene Empire of Azzurria has, since its independence, diplomatic relations mainly through the MicroWiki Community, but also holds friendly relations with other States found around the web.
The Most Serene Empire of Azzurria actually keeps mutual recognition and diplomatic relations with thirteen Micronations, opened twenty-one foreign embassies (updated to January 2017) and is the founding member of the Society of Italophone Micronations, of the Society of Micronations, of the Micronational Union of Twin Towns and co-founder of the Azzurrian-Unironic Economic Pact.
The Most Serene Empire of Azzurria claims a tacit recognition from Malaysia and from Spain, after that its official Twitter account has been followed by official people and Offices attributable to them.
The Emperors, being also the leaders of the Nationalist Party of the Most Serene Empire of Azzurria, have the power to grant honorary citizenships and honorary titles to other heads of State and/or other notable persons.
The only one case of Sovereignty dispute is about the territory itself, disputed between the Micronation and Italy.

Key points of foreign policy

A micronation can be a good candidate for get diplomacy and mutual recognition if respects, shares, agrees and matches the following points:

• Promotion of peace, neutrality, democracy, human rights and freedoms.
• Promotion of the respect for every religion, faith, race, sexual orientation and the absolute condemnation of every kind of discrimination.
• The micronation must be at least 6 months old. This can be void for micronations located on Italy or with Italian as national language.
• The micronation must have a website with clear and truthful information (population, goals, territory, flag and so on).
• The micronation must exist in real life, located on a true place on the Earth planet.

If a micronation should violate one of the previous points after got mutual recognition and diplomatic relations, the Most Serene Empire of Azzurria reserves for itself the right to cut the mutual recognition and diplomatic relations, especially in cases of human rights violations and if the micronation shows a belligerent behaviour, starting offensive wars (no matter against who).
The only way to apply for diplomatic relations is through the online application on the official website.

This can led to the Most Serene Empire of Azzurria to suspend and to cut diplomatic ties with micronations that violates the human rights.

	Democratic Republic of Belia	The Most Serene Empire of Azzurria does not recognise the Democratic Republic of Belia because, from the point of view of the Most Serene Empire of Azzurria, it is not a real separatist Micronation, because its belligerent behaviour and its fake wars, armies, presidential car (that looks just as a good photoshop editing) and the Belia's decision, without any evidence and reason, to classify the Most Serene Empire of Azzurria (then being still known as the Tower City State) as a puppet state of the Principality of Hashima which who, perhaps, is even defunct and without any legacy to the Most Serene Empire of Azzurria. Furthermore, the Most Serene Empire of Azzurria contacted the administrations of Tomares and of Bormujos (in province of Sevilla, Spain) on the claimed area of the Democratic Republic of Belia, and everybody confirmed that there's no civil war between Belia and the GRIX, and that the Democratic Republic of Belia doesn't exist outside the MicroWiki and Twitter official pages. The Most Serene Empire of Azzurria officially recognises this territory as part of Spain.
	European Union	The Most Serene Empire of Azzurria does not recognise the European Union, because its policy with the member states and because the utilize of Euro as currency inside many members of the Organization itself.
	Islamic State	The Most Serene Empire of Azzurria does not recognise the Islamic State as a Sovereign Country because, from the point of view of the Tower City State, it is a terrorist organization. The Most Serene Empire of Azzurria officially recognises these territories as part of Iraq and Syria.
	Italian Government	The Most Serene Empire of Azzurria does not recognise the actual government of Italy, but recognises Italy as a Sovereign Country.

Tacit Recognitions from Macronations

The Most Serene Empire of Azzurria claims to have recieved tacit recognitions (that, in the absence of any indication to the contrary, can be reasonably interpreted to imply recognitions) from some Countries which have not explicitly granted the Most Serene Empire of Azzurria official diplomatic recognition.

• Malaysia: Since 26 September 2016, the official Twitter page of the Most Serene Empire of Azzurria (@SIA_Gov) has been followed by a Malaysian man, A Razzak Sabri, who in his bio definites himself a member of the Office of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia and stated that he worked on Malaysian embassies in Tehran (Iran), and in Abuja (Nigeria). He also invited the Most Serene Empire of Azzurria to follow the official page of the D8org, that is a governmental cooperation among Nigeria, Malaysia, Indonesia, Turkey, Egypt and others.

• Spain: From 11 to 12 October 2016, the official Twitter page of the Most Serene Empire of Azzurria (@SIA_Gov) has been followed by Barcelona Extranjería, a national Spanish Office of legal services, immigration procedures and international enforcement.
