Carolusia is the capital city of the United Kingdom of the Great Bayou, it is located in - depending on one's persuasion - both the nations of Ela'r'oech and Pontunia, or neither nation. The capital was established in the United Bayou on 15 December 2023, however it was initially established as Da'a'ck on 25 September 2020.
History
As Da'a'ck
Carolusia was established on 25 September 2020 as Da'a'ck, the capital city of Ela'r'oech when it was a Kingdom. On the first day that it was established, it became the most culturally and economically relevant city in the Kingdom, so much so that it eventually became the only city that citizens would name, even though other cities existed at the time such as Tomsident. ACBIC would establish their headquarters in Da'a'ck on the day it was established. Immediately, it became the biggest economic powerhouse in the Kingdom of Ela'r'oech.
During the First Alarian War, Da'a'ck had been taken over for a short period of time, with Alarians taking over the ACBIC Headquarters. The attackers would be pushed back later, with minimal damage done, however the point was clear. The Kingdom of Ela'r'oech would then defeat Alaria. However, as the Elarian-Alarian Conflict continued, Da'a'ck would be a constant warzone.
After the Elarian-Alarian Conflict, Da'a'ck would eventually be the city where many Elarian businesses were established, such as Firefly and ExploratorE. This would lead to Da'a'ck becoming the richest city in the Kingdom, while also being the capital at the time. Additionally, thanks to being the capital of the nation, Da'a'ck was also very much a political powerhouse, with the Monarchy living in the city.
As New Da'a'ck
Eventually, Da'a'ck would be renamed to New Da'a'ck. This renaming changed very little, as the city remained as the biggest economic, political, and cultural powerhouse. By the time New Da'a'ck had been renamed, most citizens would visit the city daily simply for financial transactions. Eventually, in early 2022, New Da'a'ck would become the only place an Elarian could physically purchase stocks and bonds in Ela'r'oech. At this point, Ela'r'oech had become an Empire. However, even still, New Da'a'ck was the largest city by far in the Empire.
As Carolusia
Since 15 December 2023, the United Kingdom of the Great Bayou has held five established states, with Carolusia being named specifically the continuation of New Da'a'ck. Since it's establishment, Carolusia has continued to serve as the most culturally and economically powerful state. Additionally, since Carolusia is the only state that neither the Empire of Ela'r'oech or the Kingdom of Pontunia can solely claim, as it is the capital state, it is likely that Carolusia will continue to serve as the most politically active and relevant state as well.
Culture
The culture of Carolusia is, debatably, the entire culture of Ela'r'oech. However, many Elarian citizens have also stated that Carolusian culture and Carolusia itself is the embodiment of the aristocratic society in Ela'r'oech. Many see Carolusia as an embodiment of the upper-class in the Empire. Carolusia has been the most economically active and relevant state since it was established as a city back in 2020, with Carolusia also serving as the only place citizens can physically purchase stocks or bonds.
Additionally, Carolusia is where the monarchy resides. As such, it naturally serves as the most politically relevant state. All mainstream Elarian politicians reside in Carolusia, including but not limited to, Charles I, Ian Clark, and Terry Jacobs. Anthony Ramirez is the only politician in the Empire who is actively residing in the nation while not residing in Carolusia, as he currently resides in Mabo.
