The Cabinet of the United Federation is a body consisting of the Vice President of the United Federation and the heads of the executive branch's departments in the Federal Government of Aumarea. It is the principal official advisory body to the president of the United States. The president chairs the meetings of the cabinet. The heads of departments, appointed by the president and confirmed by the Senate, are members of the Cabinet, and acting department heads also participate in Cabinet meetings whether or not they have been officially nominated for Senate confirmation. The president may designate heads of other agencies and non-Senate-confirmed members of the Executive Office of the President as members of the Cabinet.

The members of the Cabinet serve at the pleasure of the president, who can dismiss them at any time without the approval of the Senate.

The cabinet is headquartered in the Presidential Palace in Kosa Federal District.

The Constitution of the United Federation does not explicitly establish a Cabinet. The Cabinet's role, inferred from the language of the Opinion Clause (Article II, Section II, Clause 1) of the Constitution is to provide advice to the president.

The current president is Luke Knight, who is a member of the Federalist Party.

History

The cabinet was officially founded on 12 March 2023, when the United Federation Constitution was ratified. The first cabinet was formed on 12 March 2023 under the presidency of Luke Knight but it was later than that when ministers were appointed.

Confirmation Process

The heads of the executive departments and all other federal agency heads are nominated by the president and then presented to the Senate for confirmation or rejection by a simple majority. The senate can outright reject candidates or prolong the selection by filibuster that the nomination is dropped.

If when a president is elected the senate isn't currently sitting the president can appoint acting heads of the executive departments until someone can be confirmed for office.

Styles of Ministers

All executive department heads are granted styles by virtue of their position in the cabinet. All ministers are formally given the style 'The Honourable' but are also colloquially known as 'Mr/Madam [Portfolio] Minister'.

The President and Vice President are sightly different, however. The president is informally known as 'Mr/Madam President' and the Vice President is informally known as 'Mr/Madam Vice President' or 'Mr/Madam President' when presiding the Senate.
