The Presidential Chief of Staff (PCoS) is the non-political head of the Executive Office of the President and a position in the Federal Government of Aumarea. They also serve as one of the President's most senior advisors.
The chief of staff is one of the appointments made by the President of the United Federation that is not subject to senatorial approval, and who serves at the president's pleasure.
The PCoS also often attends Cabinet.
History
The role of chief of staff was established on 12 March 2023 with the establishment of the executive office of the president. The office has been vacant since its establishment.
Role
The responsibilities of the chief of staff are both advisory and managerial and may include the following:
- Selecting Senior Presidential Office Staff and Overseeing Their Offices
- Managing the Presidential Office Staff System
- Directing, Managing and Overseeing All Policy Development
- Protecting the Political Interests of the President
- Negotiations with the UF Congress and Cabinet Ministers
- Advise on Any Issues Set by the President
- Selecting What the President Needs to Prioritise
Appointment
The presidential chief of staff is one of the few federal offices that is not subject to approval by the Senate. The office is appointed directly by the president and incoming officeholders swear the same oath of office that cabinet ministers swear upon appointment.
