HS&RH Stephanie Eaton is a Quixotican politician. As the older sister of King Miles she was a member of the Quixot Royal family. She was the first elected Deputy Prime Minister in Quixotican history as well as the first ever woman to hold that office. Upon the Monarch's removal of Dylan R. Light from office for political inactivity, Eaton succeeded to the position of Prime Minister of Quixotica, becoming the nation's first ever female leader of the Advisory Council. When Miles himself abdicated the throne she became the second ever Quixotican Monarch. She was the last Quixotican monarch following the establishment of a Republic in late September, 2018.

Political career

Upon the founding of Quixotica Stephanie was instantly made a member of the nation's royal family. She would later be appointed to the Kingdom's Advisory Council as one of the Royal Representatives of the new capital city of Redemption Hill. Upon her colonizing of some territory in the Coloradan city of Denver, she was given the title "Duchess of Galapago" and a new seat on the Council to match.

When Prime Minister Light's efforts in the November, 2017 Advisory Council Leadership elections required a suitable running mate to succeed the controversial Jack Lea as Deputy Prime Minister, King Miles suggested his sister Stephanie for the office. Light agreed to this last-minute choice of running mate just before the vote-count was revealed to have him won unanimously. Stephanie Eaton had been informed of her victory earlier that day by Miles knowing he would suggest her as a running mate to the inevitably re-elected Light. She became not only the first ever elected Deputy Prime Minister (all the others had been appointed), but the first woman to hold said office in Quixotican history. She was re-elected Deputy Prime Minister in February, 2018.

On 10 March 2018 the Duchy of Galapago was ceded back to the United States and Stephanie was made Mayor of the old capital city of Eatonville. This change was put into effect by the Galapago-Eatonville Declaration and Eaton was notified of her new peerage the same day.

Premiership

In late February, 2018 Prime Minister Light ceased responding to the reigning Monarch's attempts at communication. His disappearance eventually became a threat to the nation's stability, with King Miles I of Quixotica forced to remove him from office on 23 March 2018. The Unthinkable Declaration, so-called because Miles never thought he would have to write it, removed Light from office as Prime Minister and re-affirmed Stephanie's constitutional ability as Deputy Prime Minister to immediately succeed him in this capacity. The declaration also made Stephanie the new Quixotican Minister of the Treasury, but it is important to note that the decree only removed Light from his cabinet positions. Prime Minister Eaton was for all intensive purposes the new leader of the Wool Hat Party upon her assuming the role of Premier, but she was officially made Big Wooly of the Wool Hat Party during the Seventh Meeting of the Advisory Council on 30 March 2018. During that same meeting Stephanie received the special distinction 'Hero of the Kingdom of Quixotica' for her service to the nation during the Light Leadership Crisis that began her Ministry. This first meeting of her premiership also saw the addition of 5 new ministerial positions to the Cabinet through the eleventh Amendment to the Quixotican Constitution. On 5 April 2018 King Miles appointed himself Minister of Foreign Relations.

Prime Minister Eaton resigned as Mayor of Eatonville on 20 April 2018 to become the Archduchess of the newly acquired province of Coaltrium.

Eaton's predecessor Dylan R. Light declared his de facto disinterest in remaining part of the Quixotican government on 16 May 2018. The following 'Farewell Declaration' written by King Miles removed Light from his remaining positions and gifted the Lights Lordship, save Memory Hill, back to the United States. After founding her own political party under the encouragement of King Miles, the Amethyst Party, Stephanie was elected unanimously as Prime Minister in her own right. Shortly after her election in May, 2018 her new political party replaced the Wool Hats as the Council's majority party, thus beginning the fifth incarnation of the Advisory Council.

Hoping to better separate his powers as reigning Monarch from those of the Advisory Council and the Prime Minister's Cabinet Miles appointed fellow royal Esther Eaton to his positions as Representative of Redemption Hill, Marquis of the Quixotican Far West, and Minister of Foreign Relations. Lori Eaton succeeded Miles as Minister of the Interior. Upon her becoming a Councillor, Esther chose to found her own political party- the Egalitarian Party.

Salvatore Miller, friend of the reigning Monarch, was appointed Deputy Prime Minister of Quixotica on 25 July 2018 without Prime Minister Stephanie's knowledge. Sal chose to be nonpartisan instead of joining either of the two similar political parties in the Advisory Council at the time. Salvatore agreed to run alongside Esther Eaton in the August, 2018 Advisory Council Leadership Election so long that he was free to found his own political party following the election's results.

Stephanie lost re-election to fellow royal Esther Eaton on 3 August 2018. She had little time to contemplate her loss however as the abdication of Miles that same day prompted her to ascend to the Quixotican throne. She was crowned Queen by the newly inaugurated Esther Eaton, the very woman that defeated her in the leadership election.

Reign

Stephanie became Queen of Quixotica after the abdication of Miles I following the August, 2018 Advisory Council Leadership election. In doing so she became the first person to have served as both Prime Minister and reigning Monarch. She was crowned Queen by Prime Minister Esther Eaton, the very woman whom she had lost the Leadership election to just moments before, in a simple improvised ceremony.

Her reign, short and uneventful, was concluded by the dissolution of the Quixotican Monarchy and establishment of the Republic of Quixotica.

The Amethyst Party was unofficially founded on 13 May 2018 for the purpose of replacing the Wool Hat Party as the Prime Minister's political affiliation in the May, 2018 Advisory Council leadership election. As per the nature of its founding the only person ever considered by the party as its candidate for the office of Prime Minister in May was its founder, the incumbent Stephanie Eaton. After running unopposed and winning the election Prime Minister Eaton officially changed her party affiliation to the Amethyst Party. Shortly after the election, the Amethyst party became the second ever majority party of the Advisory Council, after the Wool Hat Party.

When King Miles asked Prime Minister Eaton what she would like for her new political party to be named she replied, without pause, "Amethyst". When asked why she was naming her replacement political affiliation in this way she explained the stone Amethyst as being symbolic of the attainment of knowledge. The color lavender was chosen to be official color of the party because it closely resembles the hue of most Amethysts.

When Esther Eaton became a member of the Quixotican government she opted to found her own party rather than join the Amethysts. This resulted in the creation of the Egalitarian Party which, despite being nearly identical to the Amethysts in terms of world-view, functioned as the de facto opposition party of the 5th Advisory Council.

Immediately following her loss in the August, 2018 Advisory Council Leadership election Stephanie was forced by the abdication of King Miles to ascend to the throne. As per the Quixotican constitution she was forced to make herself politically independent as Monarch and as a result the Amethyst Party was permanently disbanded. The Egalitarian Party founded by Esther Eaton succeeded the Amethyst Party in its role as the majority party of the Advisory Council.

The Amethyst Party was re-established during the Kingdom's successor state, the Republic of Quixotica.
