Sir Dylan R. Light is a "pro-proletariat politician" and philosopher, as well as one of the founding members of the Kingdom of Quixotica along with Miles I. He served as Quixotica's first ever Prime Minister from May, 2017 to March, 2018.
Political career
Premiership
Dylan R. Light was the first ever member of the Advisory Council, and as such was able to elect himself as Prime Minister without opposition on May 20, 2017. He was re-elected on August 4, 2017 by a majority of nearly seventy percent, defeating the far-right candidate Jack Lea and center-right candidate Cory Kohler. Light ran for re-election without a running mate, instead allowing for his Deputy Prime Minister Michael Pudak to informally retire from Quixotican politics.
He served as Minister Plenipotentiary and Envoy Extraordinary to the Court of St. James. He visits the United Kingdom biennially. Prime Minster Light spent almost a full month of his second three-month term on vacation in Britain. During this time he was regarded by the Monarchy as 'representing the Kingdom abroad'.
Prime Minister Light was the only non-royal member of the Advisory Council present for its first ever meeting, which was held in the presence of the King and founder of Quixotica Miles I. The King and Light created a set of agreements at the meeting which included the removal of two noblemen from office, the founding of the Ministry of the Interior, the establishment of a National Park System, and the designation of certain organisms as the official symbols of the Lordship of the Lights. More positions were added to the Prime Minister's cabinet during the second meeting of the Advisory Council. The second meeting also saw the addition of more official symbols for the Lordship.
While Prime Minister Light was on vacation in the British isles, the reigning Monarch Miles I appointed councillor Lea to the position of Deputy Prime Minister of Quixotica. Light was not informed of this until he returned from Britain in October. Despite the two men having never met and sharing little in common politically or otherwise, Miles believed appointing Lea to the Light ministry would allow for the few conservatives in Quixotica to feel they had a voice in the Advisory Council's leadership.
Two days after his return from Britain, Prime Minister Light held the Third Meeting of the Advisory Council. This meeting was key in the further establishment of the Quixotican Ministry of the Treasury as well as the different denominations of the Quixotican currency, the 'Article of Credit'. Light was awarded Knighthood in the Order of the Yellow-Bellied Finch by King Miles for his service as Head of the Advisory Council. This autumnal meeting also saw the Prime Minister declare his intention to run for a third term, something solidified in a video announcement later that same day. Confident of Light's victory in November, the King informed Light he would work to find him a suitable running mate. Neither of the two men wanted to nominate the incumbent Jack Lea as Dylan's running mate believing he would soon be Light's primary rival in the Leadership election. In the end a lack of communication between the reigning Monarch and Lea left him never formally declaring his candidacy and as a result Light won re-election unopposed on November 11, 2017. King Miles I chose his sister Duchess Stephanie Eaton as Dylan's last minute running mate and thus she became his third Deputy Prime Minister. Dylan Light was declared the official Heir apparent to the Quixotican throne by King Miles I during the Fourth Meeting of the Advisory Council. Light was also bestowed the Honor of being the first ever Quixotican "General of the Army". Prime Minister Dylan Light appointed King Miles I as Minister of the Interior after being asked by the Monarch to do so.
Prime Minister Light was pivotal in the peaceful annexation or "conquest" of the Quixotican constituency of Memory Hill. As General of the Army Light was the first to summit the peak, known to locals as Legend's Ridge, on December 3. After a long time admiring the panoramic view from the top the two settled on the name of the newly incorporated territory as well as Dylan's appointment as Suzerain of the area. Memory Hill is referred to as such because not only does the place itself have a long history, but many locations from the Miles' and Dylan's lives can be viewed from its summit.
Prime Minister Dylan R. Light held a very productive fifth meeting of the Advisory Council with King Miles I on December 31, 2017. The meeting granted the territory of Memory Hill to the Light's Lordship, created the Ministry of Defense, re-branded the position of National Security Director as Minister of National Security, and the ratification of the new Quixotican Constitution. Dylan was awarded the Knighthood of the Order of St. Brendan by King Miles I for his efforts as the Quixotican Ambassador to Great Britain to improve cross-Atlantic communication.
Dylan announced his intention to run for re-election in the February Advisory Council Leadership election to a camera just a few minutes prior to the commencement of the Sixth meeting of the Advisory Council. During the subsequent meeting Light declared the creation of the "Wool Hat Party". Dylan had been asked whether or not he would like to found his own political party several times in the past, but this was the first time in which the Prime Minister was willing to do so. It was then decided that Dylan's re-election efforts would be done under the banner of this new faction. When asked what the title of the leader of the Wool Hat Party would be Prime Minister Light lost no time in responding "the Big Wooly". Dylan was then declared the Big Wooly of the Wool Hat Party by the Advisory Council.
Prime Minister Dylan Light won re-election unanimously on February 11, 2018. His and his running mate's election as members of the Wool Hat Party as well as another Councillor's willingness to join the new political faction resulted in the Wool Hat Party becoming the majority party of the Advisory Council that same day.
Prime Minister Light disappeared from politics in late February and was not responsive to any attempts made by the Monarch to contact him. After nearly a month without anyone acting as Prime Minister, King Miles made the tough decision to remove Light from office in the interests of the nation’s stability. The Unthinkable Declaration, so-called because the reigning Monarch never thought he would have to write it, removed Light from his positions as Prime Minister and Minister of the Treasury and had Deputy Prime Minister Stephanie Eaton immediately succeed him in those positions. The document also appointed his successor as the Quixotican Ambassador to the United States. Dylan R. Light was succeeded as Prime Minister by Stephanie Eaton on March 23, 2018. Light was relieved of his duties as Big Wooly of the Wool Hat Party and Heir Apparent for continued inactivity during the Seventh Meeting of the Advisory Council.
Post-Premiership
Light was succeeded by Prime Minister Stephanie Eaton as Big Wooly of the Wool Hat Party on March 30, 2018. His dog, the canine Councillor Tito Light, was removed from office on April 20, 2018 through the same Royal Decree that admitted the Archduchy of Coaltrium into Quixotica. Light, hoping to better focus on himself, informally asked to be removed from his remaining offices on May 16, 2018. The subsequent Royal Declaration, known as the 'Farewell Proclamation', did just that, and abolished the Lordship of the Lights in the process. Light did return to Quixotican politics after the Kingdom was replaced by a republic.
Lord of the Lights
The Lordship of the Lights was founded on March 26, 2017, prior to the actual founding of Quixotica. The lordship was established by Dylan Light with the implied intention for it to be assimilated automatically into whatever nation was going to be founded next by his best friend Miles. When the Kingdom of Quixotica was finally brought into existence on April 11, 2017 it was under the assumption that the Lights Lordship would be one of its first ever provinces- an assumption proved accurate when the two men hanged out next. Since then, the Lordship of the Lights has often been the most influential constituency in the Advisory Council and has played a pivotal role in Quixotican History.
During the first two meetings of the Advisory Council, the King of Quixotica inquired as to what lifeforms and cultural phenomena Lord Light would like to have represent his constituency. The result was a multitude of symbols, including an official bird, dinosaur, and even beverage being decided upon by the two men. A secondary representative of the Light's Lordship, Dylan's dog Tito, was appointed by King Miles I during the Fourth Meeting of the Advisory Council on November 11, 2017. Tito was removed from office for his master's continued political inactivity on April 20, 2018.
The Lordship of the Lights consists of two cities, the provincial capital of Wertopolis I, and the largest city in the Lordship Wertopolis II. The names of these two cities have their origins in the predecessor state to the Lights Lordship- the Empire of Wert. Both cities and the Lordship as a whole are represented on the Advisory Council by Lord Light. Dylan represented these areas along with his dog Tito from November, 2017 to April, 2018.
As part of the agreement that allowed for the Lordship of the Lights to be automatically admitted into Quixotica upon the nation's founding, Dylan Light is the only person allowed to hold the title of "Lord" on the Advisory Council or in any other capacity. As such, there are no other Quixotican constituencies designated as a Lordship.
The Lordship remained stagnant in terms of territorial expansion until New Year's Eve, 2017 when the Advisory Council officially incorporated the province of Memory Hill (also ruled by Dylan) into the Light's Lordship.
Light's abandonment of the Quixotican government resulted in his ceasing being Prime Minister. When he asked to be left alone to deal with personal issues on May 16, 2018 it was viewed as closure and he was formally removed from all his remaining positions. This caused the Lordship of the Lights to be gifted to the United States. The land previously part of the Suzerainty of Memory Hill, long since a part of the Lordship, was kept by Quixotica however and formally added to the territory held by the old capital city of Eatonville.

Prime Minister Light had long been a nonpartisan politician. Running without the support of any major party, Light was elected Prime Minister three times in a row and twice without any formal opposition. Nonetheless, the idea of Light unifying some of his fellow independent Councillors under some form of ruling political party did linger in the mind of the Monarch. Often when Light was asked by King Miles if he would like to found a party the two would decide to postpone the issue until a later date. That time would come in the form of an inspired Light's decision at the Sixth Meeting of the Advisory Council to finally found his very own political faction. He opted to name his new party "the Wool Hat Party" in honor of his near characteristic winter head-wear, justifying this decision by saying “we’re the type of people who go out and work hard even when it’s cold … and wear wool hats”. Following this, Light was granted recognition by the Council as the first ever "Big Wooly of the Wool Hat Party". Light's new political party automatically became part of his February, 2018 re-election campaign (a campaign he announced just prior to the Sixth Meeting of the Council). Duchess Stephanie Eaton became the first person ever nominated for the position of Deputy Prime Minister by the Wool Hat Party on January 27. Light and Eaton won re-election to their respective positions on February 11, 2018 thus cementing the Wool Hat Party as the first ever majority party of the Advisory Council in Quixotican history.
Prime Minister Stephanie Eaton succeeded Light in his capacity as Big Wooly on March 30, 2018 after it was decided by the reigning Monarch that the Premier had already been acting as the de facto party leader since she assumed office a week earlier. The Wool Hat Party was finally disestablished following its complete replacement by the Amethyst Party following the May, 2018 Advisory Council Leadership Election.
