The Republic of Arkazja (Polish: Republika Arkazji) commonly known as Arkazja, is a self-proclaimed state located in Eastern Europe. Arkazja has a population of 38. Arpolis is the nation's capital. Arkazja shares a border with Poland on all sides except south where it borders with Dzialka Union. Arkazja is a fifth-world micronation under the Boodlesmythe-Tallini system. The nation was founded by reigning president Natt Falkenhausen on 5 February 2022, with its flag and coat of arms being adopted on 6 and 7 February respectively. Akrazja is an semi-presidential republic with a multi-party system under an authoritarian regime. The legislative body is the Arkazjan Senate.

History

Foundation

Republic of Arkazja was founded by Natt Falkenhausen on the ruins of Kopernikan People's Republic with a goal to create a politically stable state (Kopernik was politically unstable). Arkazja declared independence on 5 February 2022. On 6 February 2022 Arkazja adopted the national flag, and on 7 February adopted the coat of arms. State anthem - Jestem Arkazjaninem - was created and adopted on 19 March 2022.

Conflict with Grzibowitz

On 26 March 2022, Natt Falkenhausen declared war on former ally, Kingdom of Grzibowitz. The casus belli was diplomatic insult made by the only Grzibowitzan citizen. Arkazjan army attacked the same day, fighting in Arkazjan Crusade. Grzibowitz was conquered, and Arkazja annexed the territory of the current Karolewsk province, additionally creating a puppet state - Duchy of Grzibowitz.

On 19 April 2022, the first Constitution of Arkazja was adopted. On 17 May 2022 Arkazja has given up control of Grzibowitzan territory due to inactivity and loss of interest over that territory along with loss of interest in expansive policy. Later Arkazjan government went less active for about a year.

First term of the Senate

On 7 April 2023 Natt Falkenhausen changed Cicada Brotherhood to Arkazjan Workers Party with objectives of Marxism-Leninism. On 18 April 2023, the first parliamentary election was held. Red Union coalition took power. The coalition was consisting of Arkazjan Workers Party, Arkazja Social Democratic Front and Syndicalist Party. Government after a short time went less active - second time.

Second term of the Senate

On July 2023, Arkazjan government became more active once again, because of the beggining of Arkazjan-Fortawian alliance. In August 2023 Kijciwpempek Friends Party was banned after the Trial of Kijciwpempek monarchists. Red Union coalition broke up because of inactivity of Arkazja Social Democratic Front and different opinions of Syndicalist Party about mothers. Between 20-27 August second parliamentary election was held. APR took power once again with 6 seats, CN got 2 seats, SP 1 seat and CP 1 seat. On 22 November 2023, the second Constitution of Arkazja was adopted.

Third term of the Senate

Between 18-25 December 2023 third parliamentary election was held. APR still holds the power with 7 seats. CN got 3 seats. Other parties didn't got any seats in the Senate.

Government and politics

Arkazja is currently an authoritarian multi-party semi-presidential republic, with legislative body known as the Arkazjan Senate. Most authority in the country is holded by the lifetime President.

Law

The Constitution of Arkazja is the enacted supreme law. The current constitution was adopted by the President on 22 November 2023; it guarantees a multi-party state with freedoms of religion, speech and assembly.[2] [3]

The judiciary in Arkazja is composed of the Supreme Court as the country's highest judicial organ. The Supreme Court hears both civil and military cases. It also decides on the constitutionality of laws. The president appoints the Supreme Court, but the Arkazjan Senate must accept it in a voting.

LGBTQ+ politics

Arkazja is a LGBTQ+ friendly micronation, with the government fully recognizing their identities and providing protections from discrimination.

Polish and English are the two official languages ​​of Arkazja. Most citizens are bilingual and speak these languages. Some citizens also speak Silesian.

Constitution of the Republic of Arkazja guarantees freedom of religion, but defines Arkazjan Native Faith as the state religion.[9]

38% of the population is atheist, but apart from them population of Arkazja is pretty much religious. 24% of the population is Catholic, and the other 24% practice Arkazjan Native Faith. Also 9% of the population practices Slavic Native Faith and 5% of the population is Muslim.[b]
