Luke I is the King of Dresmia and founding father of the Kingdom of Dresmia. He assumed the throne on 20 August 2024 with the ratification of the declaration of independence, and is the first monarch of Dresmia. The independence declaration proclaimed him as the rightful monarch.

Having founded Dresmia, he is the most influential Dresmian political figure and statesmen as well as the head of Dresmian Royal Family. His reign has been notable for the creation of Dresmia - as well as its development politically, philosophically and culturally. He is the longest serving monarch in Dresmian history.

Micronational Life

Luke has been a micronationalist since August 2024. He entered micronationalism on 20 August 2024, with the creation of the Kingdom of Dresmia. Deemed the founding father of Dresmia, Luke authored the independence declaration and has been a key figure in the creation and development of the kingdom. The declaration of independence confirmed Luke's position as the rightful monarch of Dresmia, with Luke assuming the throne around the same time as Dresmian independence.

Under Luke the position of the monarch in Dresmian society and politics has been confirmed. As well as this, the national government has been developed, with the creation of executive bodies such as the privy council and royal household that aid the monarch. Luke was responsible for the creation of the armed forces, and also developed the principles for policing in Dresmia. The Royal House was also established by Luke.

Luke is seen as the key figure of both conservatism and monarchism in Dresmia.

Additionally, Luke also authored the lyrics to the national anthem of Dresmia. He also laid the foundations for the honours system, peerage system, and national culture. Luke founded the Royal Order of the Crown, the highest national honour, as well as the Royal Chess Society and Royal Philosophy Society, the oldest national cultural societies.

Within Dresmia, Luke is a respected statesman and political figure. He is cited as aiming to contribute further to both Dresmian society and the micronational community - hoping to be able to work with a number of other nations and to forge close alliances between Dresmia and other nations.

Personal Life

Born in the United Kingdom, Luke is of Welsh descent. He practices Christianity and is undergoing conversion to Roman Catholicism - despite the fact his father is an Anglican being confirmed into the Church of England, and his mother is not religious. Luke was educated in West Sussex, England, completing A-levels in history, philosophy and politics - with politics being his strongest subject.

Luke enjoys music and video games. His favourite game is Hearts of Iron IV and his favourite bands are Sabaton and Lynyrd Skynyrd. He plays bass guitar and used to be a member of a rock band he created with a friend until the band was dissolved in early 2020.

A native speaker of English, he is also learning Welsh.

Politics

Luke is highly politically engaged, with politics being his best subject at college. He describes himself as a traditional conservative and a strict anti-communist, being largely inspired by his faith in addition to the works of political scientists such as Thomas Hobbes and Edmund Burke. However, he aims to reconcile his ideological views with pragmatism - being commonly cited as saying "if something is an objectively good idea, it should be used regardless of who proposed it". He is also a monarchist.

During his time in education he spent an over a year as the chairman of his college's Conservative Society and a year as an officer and representative in the student union which further helped his interest in politics.

Luke enjoys providing his political commentary on issues and tries to help his friends develop political literacy.

Philosophy

Luke is interested in philosophy, particularly virtue ethics such as stoicism, in addition to philosophy of religion and Christian existentialism. He is an avid reader of the works of Søren Kierkegaard and seeks to expand on his ideas. Additionally he's interested in the ideas of Thomas Aquinas.

Majority of what Luke reads is philosophy, with his favourite book being Fear and Trembling.
