Elarian exceptionalism is the belief that the Empire of Ela'r'oech and it's citizens hold qualities which make them exceptional or exemplary when compared to other micronations. Elarian exceptionalism encapsulates the belief in the unique and extraordinary qualities of Ela'r'oech as an Empire, drawing parallels to the concept of American exceptionalism while remaining distinct in its context and ethos. Elarian exceptionalism has often been wrongfully credited as Elarian superiority, which is a separate belief system where in such Elarians are believed to be their own racial or ethnic category which is superior in some way, usually referring either to other micronational groups of people or referring to self-competition (e.g. 'to be better than you were before.') among the Elarian ethnic group.

Elarian exceptionalism also relies heavily on nostalgia. This nostalgia was based on a remembrance of confidence in Elarian life that had emerged during the post-Alarian War period due to such factors as a sense that the "enemy" had finally been "conquered", as well as the recent victory by Elarian forces. Many ideals in Elarian exceptionalism involve peace among the Bayou with Elarian dominance, Elarian imperialism, Carolusianism, and anti-communism along with anti-liberalism.

Interestingly, a poll done by ENS in August 2022 shows that 33% of Elarians preferred being in Early Ela'r'oech, a time period from September 2020 to April 2021, while another 33% preferred being in Modern Ela'r'oech, a time period from November 2021 to March 2022, and another 33% said they were happy in the present.

Reasons

Many Elarians polled said they preferred the Early period due to the heightened tensions and constant warring, considering it fun in a way, mostly during the First Alarian War and Second Alarian War.
