Elarian progressivism is a term which began usage in early 2022, with usage dying off later that same year. Progressivism in the Empire of Ela'r'oech is notably extremely different than that of American progressivism or such. Elarian progressivism is more of a cultural movement than anything which signifies the progression and defining Elarian culture.
History
Progressivism in Ela'r'oech overall had truly started in 2021, during the Progressive Era of the Empire. Parliament and Prime Minister elections were held as parties began to be established. They also began to help other nations in other conflicts, such as the Vancouver Island Territorial Dispute. This became the era where the Empire would leave its isolationist ways. The Progressive era was a turning point for Elarian politics, with the nation officially coming to support more political institutions than just the monarchy.
Generally, Elarian progressivism in a cultural sense would start in late 2021 with the creation of multiple media franchises in the Empire, such as Fight of Gods and the Louisiana State Football League - at the time known as the Elarian Football League - and Ela'r'oech News Source became well known in this period. Though, in early 2022, progressivism in the nation would wane with activity becoming increasingly stale. Though it should be noted that the company Ramirez Works would be making paintings and art depicting life in the Empire and Elarian culture in general.
In late 2022, Elarians would suffer the brute force of the 2022 Bayou recession which would lead to the closure of multiple Elarian businesses. This recession, however, would lead to the largest progressivist movement in Ela'r'oech. This movement would be catapulted by the indie-pop duo Momentum and their hit song "Live With You." This would immediately start a movement in Ela'r'oech where art began to flourish yet again, and specifically music and radio dramas became the center of attention.
Language
Language has always been a massive part of Elarian culture and - recently - has been seen as a sign of progressivism. The first language for the nation, Dangaro, was invented before the nation came to its own. Dangaro was a symbol of Elarians being able to be their own group of people.
Language was affected with the creation of Elarian which would be used much more often. This new language was much easier to use, though it would take many a long time to get used to.
