Pontunians have had an often hostile history with Ela'r'oech. Pontunia's historical biggest ally and supporter was Ela'r'oech, but Pontunians began to distance themselves from Ela'r'oech, due to the latter's attempted annexations in the name of "Bayou Unity" In the First Ela'r'oech Monarchy Power Dispute, they supported the Carolusians and joined them, but supported Cycoldia in the Second.
