Pontunians are the main group that comprises the residents of the polities of the Kingdom of Pontunia and New Pontunia. Due to the complex nature of Pontunia being mostly a concept, and not a state of its own right, the Pontunian identity overlaps somewhat with Louisianans and Austenasians. While the nation of Pontunia does not control the vast majority of its "native" territory, which is comprise of most of Southern Louisiana and Acadia, Pontunian irredentism states that they are rightful Pontunian territory. The majority of Pontunians are Cajuns.
