The Defantasization of Hugia (or commonly referred to as the Defantasization Period) (5 July 2023–1 June 2024) was a transition of removing any fictional elements of Hugia before 5 July 2023. It started after Henry II abdicated to Paul I so he can start an actual micronation instead of if it being a story and become prime minister. It also happened after a first copy of the national Hugian flag was created and the capital being renamed from Hugia City to Tractohall. The period ended after the constitution was effective on 1 June 2024.

Timeline

The defantasization period began on 5 July 2023, right after Henry II abdicated the throne to Paul I. On the same day, the coat of arms was adopted. The capital of Hugia would also be renamed from Hugia City into Tractohall, named after the tractors in Hugia. The flag was also slightly updated. The administrative divisions would also be be marked on the new Hugian political map, changing every so often. The first physical copy of the Hugian flag was created to be scheduled to fly in the air on 29 July but was post poned many times after that.

The micronation declared it to be an independent country on 11 November 2023. A day later, a new administrative territory was created (known as free territories) for the new established and claimed East Tawil in Bir Tawil, an unclaimed piece of land situated between Egypt and Sudan.

To celebrate 5 years of establishment on 29 January 2024, a new flag was adopted replacing the previous that was used for 2 years. On 30 May, the constitution was ratified, being effective on 1 June. The prime minister declared the defantasization period to be over.

Legacy

The government has been effected severely during the defantasization period. Hugia before and after the period have many differences than similarities. The micronation has been more influential and known than it was being fictional. A book about fictional Hugia (Tales of Hugia) is being written to go through what fictional Hugia was and who the leader was.
