The Confederate Counties of Hugia (CCH), is an unrecognized breakaway republic in Hugia that formed on 25 November 2023. The Confederacy was supported first as a serious idea by Gary Hansen, the founder and former president of the Confederacy. It is synonymous for starting the 2024 Hugian coup attempt that failed.
History
After Hugia became a kingdom through a regime change, the prime minister made many fictional entities of it. For example, a communist government, anarchy, and one idea that was created was the CCH without the extreme ideas.
Making of the flag
The CCH was first founded as a joke by the founder of Hugia on 30 October 2023 by creating a flag. It was apart of the "Fictional Hugian Ideologies" vexillology series. It was not meant to be taken seriously.
Formation
When forming the Royal Hugian Army on the 16th of November 2024, Gary Hansen immediately joined and was recruited. Nine days later, he records a secret message founded instantly by the prime minister. It gets leaked onto Hugia's official YouTube channel. Hansen did pressure some of his friends to join his group. The group would be known as the Confederate Counties Army.
The Hugian government shrugged it off as they thought it was a joke and nothing to worry about. There was no leads to a planned coup. Suspicions were given attention, but were ignored.
The coup
The coup planned by Hansen was scheduled on 4 January 2024 but couldn't due to catching a really bad cold and fever that lasted for a couple of weeks. After feeling better, he and his army went to hide in Concluver County. It would last for almost 3 hours with most of the kingdom not noticing a coup was being attempted. Hugia's domain was being occupied majorly every 10 minutes, occupying about 5-20% of the land each time. Eventually, the army would get pushed back all the way to where they started in Concluver and fail. The Confederate Counties were given orders to surrender by the Royal Hugian Army and the prime minister. This would ultimately disband the Confederate Counties as a whole government wise.
Aftermath
The Confederate Counties of Hugia still had a few supporters, mainly online, and a very small group that still exists. Any CCH symbols found in the Kingdom of Hugia itself is a massive problem to whoever brings them in.
In the beginning of May 2024, these supporters formed a new group called the Revolutionist Democratic People's Republic, a formation of all ideologies of communism, anarchism, and bits of the confederacy.
