Etymology and symbolism
Norte means "north" in Spanish. It was named Norte due to being in the northern part of Hugia.
The territorial flag is based off of Brazil's national flag due to the sole national recognized language in Hugia being Portguese.
History
On 29 February 2024, the establishment of the unorganized free territory began, a new administrative division. It seceded land from Backystan and Easthro counties. On 10 March, the flag and name was founded, removing its unorganized status. It was set to become a county in the summer of the same year. In July, the borders extended twice. On 12 August, Norte became a county. When the Project Transition was created, it planned for Norte to become the second capital for the Grand Republic of Hugia in 2025 and be renamed.
