The 2024 Åland State Relilitarization act is made to begin expanding the Åland States military for according to the act "to combat threats of the Åland State". The act is made to rebuild the military to the size the Åxenö Defence Forces where at. Axel Himberg would sign the act on 2 January 2024. The goal of the act is to completely remilitarize the military by the summer of 2024.
Himberg has stated that military production would begin on 3 January 2024 and that early production had already begun before the act. The act also states that "new techology" and the first tanks will also be made and researched. According to Himberg, the army has already began modifying nerf guns and began planning for the construction of tanks.
