The Empire of The Danube and The Kingdom New Flanders and Her Crownlands is a micronation founded on 17 December 2017.

Etymology

The Danube was once a long-standing frontier of the Roman Empire, and today flows through 10 countries, more than any other river in the world. Originating in Germany, the Danube flows southeast for 2,860 km (1,780 mi), passing through or touching the border of Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova and Ukraine before emptying into the Black Sea. The name was taken from the said river the original territory was on one of the "unclaimed islands" between Croatia and Serbia.

Flanders (Dutch: Vlaanderen [ˈvlaːndərə(n)] (About this sound listen), French: Flandre [flɑ̃dʁ], German: Flandern) is the Dutch-speaking northern portion of Belgium, although there are several overlapping definitions, including ones related to culture, language, politics and history. It is one of the communities, regions and language areas of Belgium. New Flanders was originally a state of the Desi Empire, the name was chosen because the regions of Flanders was one of the most affluent regions of the Hapsburg empire.

History

Pre Independence

The idea for the nation was conceived with the compact between Co-Prine Casimir and Alexander Von Habsburg-Donau-Flandern-Lothringen. The original idea was for the nation to be located in the Hala'ib Triangle and to be called the Principality of South Egypt. After this was seen as unattainable the moved the site to the Disputed border between Croatia and Serbia and was then called The Grand Principality of The Danube. After three months Casimir began to neglect his duty and was dethroned by Alexander Von Habsburg-Donau-Flandern-Lothringen. It took it's final form by December 6 2016 and declared independence from The United States.

King Alexander's Reign

From the beginning of the nation in all of its forms Alexander Von Habsburg-Donau-Flandern-Lothringen has been on each successive throne. From the beginning of his reign, he has believed that it is his role to preserve the identity of the nation and to maintain both national and governmental unity.

Union

The Kingdom of New Flanders was originally a constituent state is the now-defunct Desi Empire. Following the collapse of the said empire, New Flanders fell under the suzerainty of Shorewell. The Danubine government attempted several diplomatic negotiations with the Sultan, though to minimal avail. Several vague references were made by the Sultan on the future of the state, however, Shorewell's sudden diplomatic isolation in February 2018 led the Danubine government to assume full control over the state under the supervision of King Alexander. New Flanders and the Danube had already been previously united under Act of Union, taking effect on the 18th of December 2017.

Elevation To Empire

On October First to commemorate 11 months of revival and independence from Nedland, the Kingdom of The Danube was elevated to empire with Alexander as it Emperor.

Government and politics

The Government of The Daubes is a constitutional monarchy.

Royal Power

There will be one King from the line of Habsburg or designated by the previous King. In times of crisis, all power shall revert the King six months under dictaturae ad tempus. If The King does not uphold The Articles of Union, parliament can usurp power for six months.

Judiciary Power

The Judicial branch's only job is to punish criminals or free those wrongly convicted. It is the only branch not usurped during times of dictature ad tempus. They may overturn unconstitutional laws, acts, etc. The Judiciary branch will be made up of five judges appointed by The Minister President and ratified by parliament.

The Minister president shall be selected by The Reichstag’s majority party and Ratified by both Kingdom’s Legislatures The Minister President shall preserve the Unity of The Nation

Geography and climate

The Danubes lie in the transitional zone between the humid continental climate type and the humid subtropical climate type (Köppen Dfa and Cfa, respectively), with neither large mountains nor large bodies of water to moderate its temperature. The city experiences hot, humid summers, and chilly to cold winters. It is subject to both cold Arctic air and hot, humid tropical air from the Gulf of Mexico.

The culture of The Danubes is heavily influenced by the Catholic church. The majority of citizens are practising Catholics, and hold faith as an important part of their lives. The culture of The Danube and New Flanders is considered western with infusions of Arabic and Yiddish culture.

The Danube has the Danubine Broadcasting Board, this is how most citizens obtain information on the government, the DBB owns the Daily Jellyfish an editorial paper, the Jellyfish has contributors from all political parties.
