History and Crisis

After the New Flanders Crisis the military that had occupied the Archduchy of New Flanders occupied the surrounding territory, prompting Shorewell to demand an access pathway for the Archduchy to the US, to avoid it becoming an enclave. The Danubine government viewed the said incursion and attempts as another attempt by the Sultanate to establish its way in the New Flanders region, thus prompting The Danube to invade the Archduchy.
