The Republic of Teweria was a micronation located in Southeast Serbia.
History
On 1 August 2022, King Lito I of Teveria held a referendum regarding the government of Teveria. Out of the twelve people eligible to vote, five people voted for a Republic and four for a Kingdom, which means that the result was narrowly decided. On 3 August 2022, King Lito I abdicated the throne and proclaimed the newly-founded First Teverian Republic. Witold Chaban, who was the Chancellor of the Kingdom up to that point, was immediately appointed as Acting President of the Teverian Republic.
On 3 December 2023, the President of the State Assembly, Danilo Hrisanov, announced that the term "Teweria" was scrapped, citing "problems in writing at international meetings". He proposed the adoption of the term "Teveria" for international use and the term "Tewerşka" for internal use. Following a poll, the majority voted for the adoption of the proposal. The change was officially conducted on 6 December.
On 22 October 2024, a poll was announced regarding the future of the Teverian state, with three options: become a kingdom, remain a republic, or become a free state. The Council of the Republic voted for the state to become a kingdom, with low turnout. On 26 October, the Republic of Teveria was dissolved, by the proclamation of the Third Teverian Kingdom.
Politics
Government
The Republic of Teveria was a semi-presidential republic. Witold Chaban served as President of the Republic, Ilya Lipsky was elected acting Chairman of the Council of Ministers and Danilo Hrisanov was Supreme Judge.
On 23 August 2022, it was proclaimed that the Republic was going to held its first ever elections. The registrations to the Constituent Assembly of Teveria were announced by the acting president. The registration process was initiated five days later, on 28 August. Two days later, the three candidates were made available to the voters:
- Lito Nedelin, former King of Teveria
- Ilya Lipsky, an independent candidate
- Tangaz Kelsor, leader of the Libertarian Party of Teveria
The turnout was 8/12 eligible voters (66,6%). Lito and Ilya received 3 votes each, while Tangaz only managed to gather 2 votes and was eliminated. The second round took place on 3 September 2022. This time, Lito received only 1 vote and his adversary gathered again 3 votes, which meant that Ilya Lipsky was elected acting Chairman of the Council of Ministers.
On 28 October 2022, double elections were proclaimed. The Candidates for the State Assembly of the Teverian Republic were:
- Andrew-Ludwig Hubert, of the Monarchist-Democratic Party of Teveria
- Dmitry Alexeevich Chodźko, of Unity
- Tangaz Kelsor, of the Libertarian Party of Teveria
- Strahinja, of the Liberal Party of Anslavia in Teveria
While the presidential candidates were:
- Strahinja (LPAT)
- Vitold Chaban (NWP - KWΘK)
- Danilo Hrisanov (independent, backed by the Libertarian Party of Teveria)
The elections ended on 30 October and a 2nd round was proclaimed for the presidential candidates on 4 November. Vitold Chaban was elected with 53,8% against Strahinja Novaković, who received 46,2% of the votes. Witold Chaban was sworn in on 11 November 2022. Ilya Lipsky was re-elected as Chairman of the Council of Ministers, only now officially.
The State Assembly of Teveria was dissolved on 25 February 2023 by presidential decree, following a long period of inactivity. It was immediately replaced by the Council of the Republic.

Furthermore, a few mergers and territorial changes were approved.
