The (Second) Parliamentary Republic of Stedfast is an active micronation located in Katy, Texas.
History
On 1 December 2018, the Parliamentary Republic of Stedfast was created by Ryan Snow, who became ad-interim President until 1 January 2019.
Stedfast quickly began forming strong foreign relations. Their first ally was the State of Malinovia who assisted them in entering the Pact of New Micronations (now Malinovian Union of Microstates and the Commonwealth of Allied States.) Shortly after, Stedfast was involved in the War in Bakriland and the SMK War, both of which were victories for the Republic.
Stedfast began focusing on building the economy. Suddenly, on 1 January 2019, Sovenstein declared war on the Commonwealth of Allied States, which initiated the Sovensteinian War. Stedfast was quick to take action with the United Provinces of Natlin, United Land of Noastan, and State of Malinovia. They were victorious, and a peace treaty was later signed.
On 15 January 2019, the future of Stedfast was plunged into uncertainty. The CAS collapsed, and the New CAS was formed. Threats from the Glorian Union forced the New CAS to make a decision on whether or not war should be declared. However, this situation was resolved peacefully.
On 31 January, while looking for new allies, they discovered the Republic of Crowlandia, and together formed the N.H.M.P with another micronation, New Sovenstein.
A few months later, gay rights were legalized, causing controversy. A suburb of Noahton (a largely homophobic area of the nation) seceded from Stedfast. This secessionist republic, known as New Stedfast, later declared war on the true Stedfastian government, escalating the situation into the Stedfast Civil War. New Stedfast soon surrendered, and the Treaty of Wentsafdets Hill was signed, dissolving the Republic of New Steadfast and allowing gay rights to continue in Stedfast.
For a few months, Stedfast entered a period of inactivity, but in late September 2019, the nation made a comeback, ready to start again. The most significant recent change came in the form of a government reformation from a Republic to a Parliamentary Republic. After a few more months of inactivity the Prime Minister concluded that the micronation was defunct and on 19 December 2019, he gave all of his territories to the nations surrounding the Republic of Stedfast.
The territory of Stedfast became the Kingdom of Procia and Provinces. Struggles continued though, and on 8 May 2020, the Kingdom of Procia and Provinces was pronounced defunct.
On 4 January 2021, Stedfast was resurrected and completely remodeled. As Corona Virus got worse the Stedfast Department of Health created the COVID-19 Task Force (Second Parliamentary Republic of Stedfast) since the micronation just established again it is new to dealing with the pandemic
National Defense
Stedfast does not have a military, seeing as the government thought it would be best to rebuild the economy first.
