Name

The name "Fedonia" comes from "FEDU". FEDU was a club of the founding members of Fedonia, which grouped together and settled on territories. This group gathers in the Vecchio Parco Manfridiano, which no longer exists and is now a parking lot. When members of this group founded the republic, Fedonia was immediately the name, derived from FEDU.

History

Origin

The Republic of Fedonia, tracing its origins back to 2021, was formally established on 3rd May 2022. The nation was founded by the incumbent President Federico Ferrari and Federico L., who serve as the general and chief of the Fedonian police. The first region to be established was the "Parco Manfridiano" (Park of the Republic), which also serves as the capital of the Republic of Fedonia. The second region and now province, known as the "Vecchio Parco della Repubblica" (Old Park of the Republic), in which Fedonians already lived before, has now been merged with the new region known as "Muro del Pianto +".

The first President of Fedonia is Federico Ferrari, who has continued to hold this position following his re-election on 3rd November. The first Prime Minister of the Republic was Cristian F., whose term lasted until August 2022.

June - September (2022)

In June, the expansion of the Fedonian territory persisted as they successfully annexed the Subdasti region, which comprises its present-day boundaries. Following a few weeks, they launched an offensive and triumphed in capturing the Parco delle Mura region, ultimately advancing to the northernmost extents of the province. Continuing their conquest after a month, the Fedonians ventured into the Nordenia region, solidifying their control over the area. Following a period of preparation, in August, they established the inaugural Fedonian Port (Porto Fedoniano), marking a significant milestone in their expansionist endeavors.

The attempted coup

In late September, a group of far-left rebels organized against the government to stage a coup. Due to the growing danger of maranzas and disputes over the president and prime minister elections. The extremists accused the president of being a dictator and the government of violating freedom of expression. The government tried to crack down on these conspiracies with little success. The far-left group attempted a coup, but failed and the organization was dissolved.

October - December (2022)

The First Maranzas War

What are maranzas

Maranzas are guys, mostly teenagers, affected by the Maranzite. The Maranzite is still being studied by Fedonian scientists, and it is not yet known whether it is a disease or a mental disorder. The Maranzas group themselves into gangs and baby gangs, often committing illegal or annoying actions. They can be very aggressive especially if they are in packs.

The war

For months the danger of maranza grew in Fedonia. Italian maranza gangs prowled very aggressively around Fedonia, very often attempting to harm. There were very high tensions between the Fedonians and the Maranzas. But the crucial point was reached at the beginning of October 2022, when the Maranzas attacked the parliamentarians shortly after a Fedonian parliamentary session. Thus began the First Maranza War. The Maranzas invaded the Northen Park of the Walls, which became the actual battlefield. The province was divided into two: half in the hand of the maranzas, while the other of Fedonia, where there was also the Parliament. The war was a series of guerrilla warfare and battles, which were not very violent. The war ended in mid-November when Fedonia managed to reconquer the whole province and the Maranzas withdrew.

The Second Maranzas War

After days of quiet, the Maranzas returned aggressively around the Fedonian territories. They had prepared. Towards the beginning of December 2022 they invaded the Italica Gallery and the Abomeno Park. They violently occupied it, pushing back the Fedonian police. The Second Maranza War began. This war was much more difficult. The war continued with guerrilla warfare but the Fedonian army was unable to break through the defensive lines of the Maranzas. There were three very important Fedonian expeditions, called Svoboda (from the Russian language "Freedom"). The Fedonian police allied with Italians. The first expedition, Svoboda 1, drove the Maranza back from the western side of the Galleria Italica. Svoboda 2 pushed back the Maranza from the central part. The last expedition, Svoboda 3, repulsed the Maranzas, freeing the Galleria Italica. The Maranzas took refuge in the Abomeno Park, but the Fedonian army managed to defeat them and free them there too. The war thus ended towards the end of December.

January - March (2023)

The Constitution

Since its foundation, Fedonia had a provisional constitution. There were dozens of articles but they didn't protect much. As early as October 2022, the Government began writing a constitution, the articles of which had to be approved by Parliament. On 6th January, the new Constitution of the Republic of Fedonia was approved by the entire Parliament and officially entered into force on 10th January 2023.

The Concrete Month

On 12th January the Municipality of Tarquinia attacked and razed the Vecchio Parco della Repubblica, of which only the eastern part remained after the western part was destroyed in 2021 by the Municipality of Tarquinia to make it a parking lot. The eastern part was also attacked and the Municipality of Tarquinia started work on another parking lot. Unfortunately the work had begun early in the morning, and when the Fedonian authorities went to the site at 7:50, there were already large mounds of earth and the works had already begun.

On 26th January after the recent attack on the Vecchio Parco della Repubblica, the Municipality of Tarquinia also attacked the western part of the Abomeno Park. This second attack in just one month brought Fedonia into a serious crisis. For weeks the people had been protesting against Prime Minister David. When Abomeno Park was also attacked and David did nothing, the SSF took over, to manage the situation and the protests, and suppressed the government. After having sorted the situation out a bit, Prime Minister David managed to regain his powers on 4th February also because the elections for the new prime minister were near.

The last attack of the Concrete Month took place on 7th February a third attack by the Municipality of Tarquinia hit the eastern part of the Abomeno Park. The Fedonian army failed to defend  in time. Upon the arrival of the army, the Abomeno Park was completely razed to the ground, and throughout the Muro del Pianto + macro-region there were three construction sites for new Tarquinian car parks.

The Findukistan War

On 26th February, the Findukist separatist movement declares itself an independent nation. This act is not recognized by the Republic of Fedonia, which recognizes it as part of itself. Findukistan places an occupied Fedonian territory as its capital, thus making it disputed. Fedonia tries to repress this movement which, however, becomes de facto independent. On 2nd March the Republic of Findukistan officially declares war on the Republic of Fedonia. The conflict was intense battles. After almost two weeks, however, Fedonia proposes a peace treaty. Talks begin, votes begin, and an agreement was reached. On 12th March the governments of Fedonia and Findukistan meet and sign a treaty. Thanks to the treaty Findukistan officially becomes an autonomous region and part of the Fedonia, and the war ends.

Government

Fedonia is a presidential republic. The most important figure is the president, who is elected by the citizens. The president always has the last word, and his approval of things is also very important. However, the president is moderated by the other government bodies. Then there is the Prime Minister, the most important minister, who, together with his team of ministers, makes and conceives or accepts laws, decrees, manoeuvres, etc. Then there is a very important body, the Parliament. The Parliament, which is made up of parliamentarians, who are the mayors of the regions, elected by the citizens, who make decisions, suggest things, and approve laws, decrees, and more. Parliament can also make the prime minister resign. Another very important figure is the Chief of the Army. It has a high importance and greatly influences Fedonia's politics.

Law and criminal justice

Fedonia has a number of laws, written into the Constitution. The Fedonia Penal Code is still incomplete and open, so it is being completed. For now, the Fedonian penal code is based on the Fedonian Constitution, on the draft penal code and partly on the Italian penal code. The Fedonian Police is an important body that is used to fight crime. Crime is not high in Fedonia. However, the police have recorded an increase in crime in recent months, which however remains low and is not worrying. The Fedonian police are independent. Another important body that is used is the Fedonian Secret Service. The SSF have a lot of power, and they carry out covert missions to counter even enemies outside the Fedonia Republic.

LGBT rights

LGBT is not appreciated and is not protected in Fedonia. A large part of the population is not in favor and is against the LGBTQIA+ community. There are no laws that condemn the discriminations. Geography

Photo of Bucone Sud, Fedonian province of the Subdasti region, during sunset. This photo was taken from the southern part of the province.

Fedonia is located in Southern Europe and borders on Italy. Due to its small size and its border with Italy, the Fedonian climate is similar to the Italian one. The climate is Mediterranean, due to its proximity to the Tyrrhenian Sea. It is not crossed by any river but is located near the Marta river. It has no lakes. Most of the Fedonian territory is green, low hills and flat. In part, however, it is anthropic.

Environment

Fedonia preserves its environment. Even for its small size, Fedonia does not encounter major pollution problems. Most of the pollution on Fedonia's soil dates back to before Fedonia, i.e. rubbish thrown away by the Italians. The most common Italian rubbish found on Fedonia's soil are cigarette butts, glass and plastic bottles, electronic cigarettes and food remains. The dirtiest region is the capital, the Manfridian Park. Due to the large amount of trash the Fedonian Government has opened a project to clean up the region by the nation's first anniversary on May 3. The second dirtiest region is the Parco delle Mura, especially the province of the Parco delle Mura Sud. The Republic of Fedonia instead tries to preserve its territory, trying to clean it up. The region most polluted by Fedonia is instead the Campo Abomeno, where military exercises take place, where, however, efforts are still being made to clean up.

Biodiversity

Fedonia has a low number of animals, due to its small size. The most common animals are cats, ants, lizards, and others. There are many animals, which are not often seen in other regions, in the western part of the Manfridian Park, but in the spring the grass seems to be cut every year and therefore they are only there when the grass grows back and becomes very tall. Most of Fedonia are green areas. The greenest region is the Campo Abomeno, where however the grass is very tall so there are fears that it could start to cause some problems. There are many birds that cross the Fedonian sky. Fedonia preserves its animals.

Regions

Fedonia is divided intoregions and provinces. Each region has its provinces. Each region has its own mayor, who are also the members of Parliament, and have to partially administer the region.
