The presidential system is a form of government in which the head of state of a republic (usually but not always titled President), usually but not always elected is, heads the executive branch and is independent from the country’s legislature. The executive, legislative and judicial branches of government are separated from each other and keep checks on one another. Presidential republics always have a lieutenant, usually titles Vice President or more rarely, Deputy President
