The politics of Agraria take place with the framework of a semi-presidential system run by the constitution of the Grand Republic of Agraria.

The political system of Agraria consists of an executive branch, and a legislative branch, the constitution allows for Judicial practices to be carried out by the parliamentary assembly. Executive power is exercised by the President of Agraria and the government. The Government consists of the prime minister and the cabinet of ministers. The prime minister is appointed by the president, and is responsible to the parliamentary assembly as well as the president.

The parliamentary assembly consists of a single house and votes to pass bills of the country. It is responsible for upholding what is defined in the constitution. The chief judicial officer in the country is the attorney general, and can make rulings based on the advisory of the assembly, or the court.

Constitution

The constitution is the highest legal document within the country. It was written in July and August and adopted on 7 August 2024. It was signed by the president and all members of the parliamentary assembly.

It outlines Agraria as a secular state, and gives people the right to freedom of speech, along with outlining the functions of the government. It is stored in Jewel city, near the assembly hall.

Executive

The Republic of Agraria is governed as a Semi-presidential system, with both a president and a prime minister that uses the president-parliamentary model of the system. However, it can be described as a dictatorship after the first prime minister left in June 2024.

President

The president is the head of state of Agraria and the leader of the Executive branch of government. They are the face of Agrarias politics domestically and internationally along with leading the forgien policy of Agraria. They appoint the Prime minister and the cabinet of ministers. The president can also dismiss the prime minister, although the parliamentary assembly can as well.

Government

The prime minister leads the government, which consists of the ministries and government agencies. The country’s ministries include:

  • Ministry of the Interior (active)
  • Ministry of Agriculture (active)
  • Ministry of Transportation
  • Ministry of Waste (active)
  • Ministry of stupidity (defunct)

The leaders of these ministries are members of the cabinet of ministers, currently, all ministers are members of the parliamentary assembly.

Legislative branch

The Parliamentary assembly of Agraria, is the legislative branch of the nation. It consists of a single house. Currently, three seats are taken out of the 4 available. The assembly should meet one time per year, although they can meet more often at the discretion of the prime minister. The branch is outlined by Article IV of Agrarias constitution. The de jure meeting place for the assembly is the Assembly Chamber in Jewel.

Local government

Decision-making in Agraria is highly centralized, the leaders of Agrarias districts are appointed by the government of Agraria. The governments include:

  • 4 communes, led by a mayor, de facto led by the governor the municipality is in
  • 4 districts, led by a Governer
  • 2 territories, led by a territorial commissioner
