Etymology
The name “maple” comes from the large Japanese maple tree located in the District. It takes up around 15% of the district and is one of the most famous landmarks.
History
The Maple province originally consisted of the “clover forest” and the Maple tree, with what is now jewel city having status as a special municipality. With the creation of the Imperial republic of Regio, an autonomous republic, the territory was split between the royal garden (Regio) and Maple (District, then province). After the Oregon Republic became a unitary state, Maple gained its modern borders, inheriting land from the royal garden and the Free territory of grassland. On 10 July 2024, Norton park was founded as a sports venue inside the district. Norton park is planned to host the nations second sport, Ladder ball, the only national sport after Crossword solving. The Oregon Republic would change its name to Agraria in July 2024.
