The Parliament of Zeprana also known as the Zepranan Parliament or just known as Parliament was the bicameral Legislature of the Republic of Zeprana with it being the sole part of the Legislative Branch of Government within Zeprana. The Parliament of Zeprana was founded on August 19, 2021 when the nation was founded and composed of the Senate and Congress. The Parliament of Zeprana is one of the largest Micronational Legislature and is the largest legislature within the Rhode Island Sector and the New England Sector as a whole. The Parliament is composed of the Senate and Congress, which both consist of 12 and 10 seats respectively, totaling a number of 24. The Parliament is elected every four years, the next election is planned for August 19, 2025.
Much like in other nations the President can dissolve or progue the Parliament if 85% of members of the Parliament and both houses approve. The Parliament of the nation has the authority vested within it to pass national laws and it has the authority to overstep the local and state governments. The Parliament also has the authority to impeach the President of the Republic of Zeprana with a 65% majority vote from both houses.
The Parliament is capable of passing legislation related to the everyday matters of the federal government and foreign matters such as foreign relations and the armed forces. For legislation to pass it must first be proposed to the floor of Parliament, reviewed and approved by the Speaker and then voted upon by both houses with it needing to pass through both of them, however then the Supreme Court must review the legislation for legality and if the legislation is constitutional.
The current speaker position is vacant. The Speaker is mainly in charge of maintaining order within the Parliament whilst it is in session. The Speaker is nominated and approved by the Senate, who is also "elected" on the basis of mainting the confidence of the Senate and Congress. The Speaker of the Parliament is also the only non-cabinet executive member of the Senior Staff of the Cabinet of the Republic of Zeprana who is in the line of succession for the office of the Presidency of Zeprana.
It is furthermore the duty of the Parliament of the nation to approve Presidential Nominees for the Supreme Court and the Cabinet, as well as delegates to Intermicronational Associations and Unions, etc.
Before Zepranan Parliament, there was the Elarian Parliament which was the legislature when the nation was a part of Ela'r'oech.

Parliament Session Times
The Parliament meets daily from 11:00 AM EST until 4:00 PM EST, this is daily unless otherwise specified by a standing order from the Senate. The Parliament during this time meets in Amesston, the Capital. Sessions of the Parliament are widely regarded as some of the most chaotic in the western world, with sessions often being quite un-moderated and free.
