The Ministry of the Interior is the cabinet agency responsible for management of the internal, environmental and cyberspace affairs in Roscamistan. It was formed on 22 July 2021, under the current name. From November 2021 to October 2022, it was known as the Home Office, under the Home Secretary, now the Interior Secretary.
History
The department was established in the second presidency of Thomas Jacobs, with Fearghas MacLochlainn as the first Minister of the Interior.
The Ministry of the Interior was renamed the Home Office in November 2021, and the Interior Minister changed to the Secretary of State for Home Affairs. In October 2022 it was reverted to the Ministry of the Interior and its head becoming the Secretary of State for the Interior.
Responsibilities
The ministry is entrusted with the management of the Civil Service, execution of laws regarding the interior, vetting appointments, security and management of data. Agency directors are appointed by the Interior Secretary to execute the duties of the ministry.
The Ministry of the Interior also has the power to register and de-register political parties.
Organisation
The head of the ministry is Thomas Jacobs as Interior Secretary, assisted by the Under-Secretary of State and a Minister of State. The Interior Secretary, his Under-Secretary, and the Minister of State after appointed by the President of the Federation, and hold responsibility to him alone.
