Election system

Executive

The Prime Minister and the Ministers are elected through Instant-runoff voting. Each Minister is elected separately through this system. This election system was adopted on 19 February 2024, after a Referendum on the Constitutional Law on the Executive Council, which was held together with the election of the President of the Republic. The proposal passed with 63.63% of votes in favour.

Parliamentary

The 15 MPs of the Chamber are elected according the D'Hondt proportional system, without any threshold. The lists are open and the voters can select three preferences among the candidates.
