The United Kingdom of Kanindé Riverra and Montveld, commonly called Kanindé, is a micronation in Northeast Brazil. It is formed by the union of Kanindé with two other territories in the claimed area that were reorganized in 2024 and transformed into two three territories, these being Kanindé, Riverra and Montveld. Kanindé has a single border, that of Brazil, surrounded by it. The population of Kanindé gradually decreased in 2024, reducing from 7 to 5.

Kanindé is evolving and in a constant process of reforms, annexations and adaptations throughout its founding years. The Kingdom was reformed in February 2024 after two weeks of turmoil in the micronation, still in February the creation of two territories to be part of the United Kingdom was announced and the King's spouse was appointed to be Prince of one of these territories in addition to Duke of Liberty .

Kanindé is a constitutional monarchy and a parliamentary democracy. The Capital and largest city of the Kingdom is Ruthville in Liberty. The other two entities that are part of the union do not yet have capital defined by the King.

Kanindé has a diplomatic doctrine of pacifism, seeking dialogue and abstaining from armed conflicts or clashes with other micronations seeking the development of micronationalism mainly in its sector. Kanindé is a permanent member of the Council of the Coordination Committee for Micronational Development where seeks impartial development with allied nations.

Etymology

The name of the Micronation was given by His Excelency Luís Felipe referring to the original peoples who inhabited the region, the Kanindé tribes that inhabited the surroundings of the Canindé River and started the construction of the place.

History

Before the creation of the Empire

The territory that now makes up Kanindé (including the Liberated Area) was inhabited by several native tribes until the arrival of the Portuguese to colonize the territory between the 16th and 19th centuries. He saw the Dutch invasion of Northeast Brazil that lasted from 1630 to 1654 until they were expelled by the Portuguese. Brazil declared independence from Portugal on 7 September 1822, becoming the Empire of Brazil which would be dissolved in a military coup on 15 November 1889 and established in its place a Republic which in turn would see 6 more coups d'état of different presidents in different years.

Establishment of Kanindé

Kanindé was officially founded on the 25th of September 2022 as a secessionist micronation with an constitutional monarchy after long conversations with supporters and two days after the constitution was drafted and posted shortly thereafter on the 29th on the Government website. However, the talks to found the micronation had been going on since June of the same year, but they were temporarily put aside for personal reasons. In political terms, The 1st Prime Minister is The Most Honorable MP Gustavo da Silva Matos who was appointed as Acting Prime Minister until elections are held in parliament, when the necessary quorum is obtained. The Premiership of Gustavo Matos began on October 10, 2022 when he officially accepted the invitation of His Majesty King Felipe I. The Kingdom was renamed Empire on August 27, 2023 following a new policy of adopting a single, micronational image of Kanindé. On January 20, 2024, a political crisis resulted in the abolition of the Empire and was replaced by a Provisional Government with the Emperor as President of the Committee elected in the first election held in the micronation since its foundation.

Hydrography and water resources

The main sources of water in Kanindé come from the Brazilian State of Ceará, more specifically from the municipality of Canindé and it has a water reservoir within the territory of the Empire in cases of emergencies or heavy droughts, which are recently recorded quite frequently in the Region, Forcing the Government to issue a water rationing note, which in turn directly impacted the Kanindé until the construction of the reservoir

Climate

The climate of the municipality is tropical with a dry season with a maximum temperature of 33 °C and a minimum of 24 °C (averages). In the region, the wet season is hot, oppressive, and mostly cloudy; the dry season is hot, muggy, windy, and partly cloudy. Throughout the year, the temperature generally varies from 21 °C to 37 °C and is rarely below 20 °C or above 38 °C.

The highest point of the Liberated Area of ​​the Empire is the water reservoir, which has a ladder where the flagpole of the Kanindean Flag is located.

Kanindé until the 2024 Political crisis was under a constitutional monarchy. King Felipe I was the monarch and head of state of the Empire. The Constitution of the Empire of Kanindé was written by the king himself on 27 September 2022 and was based on the constitution of the Principality of Monaco. The Emperor has conducted a self-coup after a political crisis that affected the micronation and its functionality and members of the cabinet even suggested his deposition, causing the Emperor to dissolve the Empire, proclaim himself President of the Provisional Government after an election. The idea at first was to transition from a monarchy to a republic, but, after the elections that placed the monarch as leader, in this case "president" of the committee, it was decided internally that it was unfeasible and that a remodeling of the monarchy would take place to prevent the micronation became a one man nation.

Kanindé is formed from the Union between Kanindé, Riverra and Montveld, which are territories in the area claimed by Kanindé and which were directly reorganized by the King, raised to Kingdoms for consolidation of the United Kingdom. Riverra means "land of rivers and mountains" referring to the geography of the place, Montveld is a mixture of Mont in English and Veld comes from the Dutch which means field, mainly because it is a rural area. The name is a mixture of English and Dutch, a reference to the Dutch invasion of the northeast and the English part to the strong connection with countries like the United Kingdom in Europe.

The flags also have shades of the first flag of the Kingdom of Kanindé. The Flag of the Kingdom of Kanindé has the white that was on the original flag with the dark blue that was in the background with the twelve-pointed Sun and the southern cross in front. Montveld holds the green and yellow referencing the macronation in which it is surrounded and the white cross in the middle represents the Dutch invasion trying to separate the green-yellow union. Riverra brings the red that represents the sun and land and the blue that represents its abundant rivers.

Law and order

The Police is organized by the Kanindean National Police Agency, which operates throughout the territory organizing police forces. Free Territory of Canindé D.C. The National Council for Progress and Order, which is led by the king himself, acts as a military leader (like a Junta) and holds executive, legislative and judicial power, accumulating functions within the micronation along with other members of the council.

National security

Kanindé has its own secret service, The IAA (International Affairs Agency) acts as an intelligence agency and guarantees the continuity of government diplomacy thanks to power outages that affect the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was created on November 21 by the Institutional Security Law of the Empire of Kanindé or Law No. 002 of 2022, officially posted in the Official Gazette of the Empire.

Kanindé has good relations with the micronation of the Kingdom of Tazar, the Empire of Solraak and the Kingdom of Quinta Velha and both are recognized as independent micronations.

Military

The Kanindean Army is the principal land warfare force of Kanindé, a part of the Kanindeense Armed Forces along with the Kanindean Navy and the Kanindean Air Force. It has smaller forces that serve as auxiliaries, such as: Police of the Army of the Kanindé and the Shock Troop.

Economy

Kanindé's economy is diverse, but it does not produce everything alone, having to import from its only neighbor, Brazil, Specifically the municipality controlled by the State of Ceará, Canindé, which is known for being the "city of faith" or "northeastern mecca". The King crosses the border from Kanindé to Brazil to provide the necessary supplies for the maintenance of the micronation. Water is no longer an issue in the Empire since the construction of a water reservoir in the Liberated Area of ​​the Kanindé, behind the Guaramiranga Palace, its official residence.

Culture and media

The media is free but has some regulations to avoid missinformation across the country, there are only one TV Channel for now the Canindé Central Television (CCTV). It also has a webradio, the Kanindé Central Radio that plays some pre-defined songs by the radio. Sometimes it goes on the air with breaking news that is relevant to the empire or internationally.
